Here's a link to the Tory attack ads that will air during Superbowl on Sunday.

Man, the "Not a Leader" ad is absolutely scathing!

Dion is seen spluttering like a fish wife whose husband just drank the paycheque!

See for yourself.

That reeks of bias, btu I will admit, the last one is pretty funny.

Wow, talking about using his own words against him.

Dion; "This is unfair!"

Dion; "Do you think it's easy to set priorities?"

...and this is the Best the Liberals could do for the their next leader? [huh]

These ads do nothing more than prove what a nasty, petty, vicious man Harper is. The Liberals offer him the kindness of not running a candidate against him in the byelection that gave him his seat after he was elected leader without one, and how does he repay the favor? By calling byelections during the Liberals' leadership race. Canada's three largest cities shut him out in the last election, and how does he respect their democratic decision? By luring a Liberal from onecity to his party and appointing a senator from another and giving both cabinet positions.

Harper is just a rotten, mean, horrible little person, and that's what these ads say to me.

Truth hurts, or should I say "it's unfair"

LOL, time to grow up and come to reality.

This is politics. It gets dirty. The NDP you support, the Liberals, all of them. They're all guility. This is how the game is played.

You want to talk about a horrible, rotten little person, let's look at the leader of the party you support. Jack Layton and Oliva Chow were busted living in subsidized housing in Toronto while both sitting on council!

It's only petty and vicious until your own party does it. It's so unfair.

hwacker, OTI, and RUEZ, the fact of the matter is that these are ads, and their purpose is to attempt to influence people's opinions.

These ads are nothing more than one party saying something about another. I never said it's unfair. Truly unfair would be for the Tories to use their power as government to actually disrupt, somehow, the Liberals' ability to mount a campaign. These ads don't do that. All they do is say "Hi, we're the conservatives, look at how we edited the liberal leadership debates to try and make Dion look dumb. Vote for us instead."

What I'm saying is that it didn't work on me, and I refuse to believe that in all the millions of voters out there that there aren't more that it didn't work on.

Uh huh. They were voluntarily paying more in rent than they were required to, and as such were allowing the co-op to continue to offer subsidies to other tenants by injecting more cash into the coffers. What do we call that? Wealth redistribution. Jack's money is where his mouth is. Furthermore, they were "busted" by a rival on council. Lastly, how better to understand the needs of those you represent than by living like them?

Thats like saying someone got caught driving drunk after drinking import beer, and the person saying i was injecting money into the Alberta Barley Growers Association, i didn't do anything wrong.

I can't wait for the spring.....Cons are running scared now so I wonder what they will come up with by April.
It will no doubt do justice to a Mexican soap opera.

ridenrain @ Wed Jan 31, 2007 8:45 am

The Libs have been the masters of attack ads.
They had nothing on the Conseravtives and they played on the hidden agenda, the religious boogyman and imaginary connections to the US.

The only reason the Liberals are bitching is because they didn't do it first and because they can't afford it.

Letters to the editors across Canada are showing the same thing:

$1:
The nomination of Stephane Dion as the Liberal party leader emphasizes, "The more things change the more they stay the same."
Mr. Dion, a 10-year veteran of the Jean Chretien and Paul Martin governments, cannot sell himself as the rebirth of the party.
Already Mr. Dion has wrapped himself in the Liberal social agenda, including the national daycare program and Kyoto accord.
He has even named his dog Kyoto, which serves as a inspiration to us all.
I am left to ponder other appropiate names for pets of former Liberal cabinet ministers: Failed Gun Registry, HRDC Boondoggle, Sponsorship Scandal and Missing EI Fund may be appropiate.
