kenmore kenmore:
France recognizes Quebec as a Canadian province and a Nation within Canada...

And France uses diplomacy before using the military.

i used to know a bisexual french canadian guy from montreal. he was a sweetheart. he wasn't rude or snotty atall the way most epople describe montrealiens(i know this prolly isn't the correct word, but it's the first thing that came to mind).

personally i support the seperatists!! only because i'd like to see california suceed from the US. lol. i guess we're gonna have to wait for the "big one" though. :( they say california will eventually seperate and drift into the pacific. hopefully then we can declare sovereignty.

…to see california succeed (you know this proxy isn't the correct word, but it's the first thing that came to your unconscious).

Sad to see there are kids on political forums like uwish and Aging_Redneck, two retards who their parents forgot to teach them manners, geez where is this world going...

But to sum it up... if Quebec was leaving Canada? Quebec have all the necessary resources to live on their own without worries, but can Canada lives without Quebec's resources? doubt it.
This vast land makes up the main basin of natural resources in Canada, Quebec is one of the largest hydroelectricity producer in the world, got mines? Quebec sure got it, in fact, sedimentary basins favourable to petroleum and natural gas research make up 13% of Quebec’s territory, and most of this province are forests and natural water, and so on and on.
Quebec's people are filling 48% of the Canadian Forces as we speak, is it a lack of valor and courage in other provinces? weird don't you think? what would you do with a half army to cover such a big country? yep what I thought...
Quebec got everything to live as a country for many and many years to come.
Canada would lose much more than Quebec if they go on their own.
So english Canadians (and Rednecks) whining about separatists should go hide themselves, not that I like separatists because I don't, but don't go wonder why some Quebecers want to separate from people like YOU, everyone would...

ROTFL

Actually, we totally could. Canada's economy doesn't ride solely on Quebec...

tritium @ Mon May 19, 2008 7:07 pm

IF QUEBEC SPLIT!! The rest of Canada would join the United States becuase our economy would tank as investment fled and Quebec would become a 3rd world nation within a decade and learn to speak English.

...and you will still be able to get a cheap hooker on St. Catherine Street... :)

you must be joking :D

Benoit @ Mon May 19, 2008 7:26 pm

The main moral reason for Quebec and Canada to stick together is to continue their quarrel over natural resource royalty distribution until they both arrive at the conclusion that these resources belong to neither Quebec nor Canada.

Why in the hells would they refuse a port in America?

Because America, Canada and Mexico combined make up the continent of North America, which is an entire ocean away from Europe. I never said that there would be no trade, but certainly no free trade or acceptance into the European Union.

$1:
A port that permit to acceed to Ontario AND USA, btw.

Point being? We already get trade from Europe, but it's not free trade, and won't be for a very long time.

Canada(including Quebec) do a lot of trade with America. Even if Quebec were to seperate, they would still trade heavily with Canada and America. Don't expect Quebec to suddenly disappear from North America and magically appear in Europe...

And let's not forget that elephant of an economy that everyone seems to be rushing to; China...

$1:
Quebec would be a key element, via his geographic position, thanks to the Saint-Laurent.

That still doesn't change the fact that Quebec and the rest of North America will never get the EU's version of free-trade. We may eventually ahve free-trade with Europe, but that is a VERY long way's off...

$1:
I'm federalist, but the more I read you, and the more I become separatist.

So the more I try to break down your dangerous and impossible illusions and show you reality, the more you become a seperatist?

Calice, maintenant je sais pourquoi mon grand-pere partirait de La Belle Province...

Now before you get all huffy in my face, keep in mind that I do in fact LOVE Quebec, and my family has been living in La Belle Province since 1535. It's just that sooooooo many Quebecers need to wake up and smell reality. And I must admit, it's been a slow process, but it's finally happening...

$1:
France have a PIB more than twice bigger that Canada.
I think that's a proof that they more that wine producer.

And this is an effective rebuttal to my post, how?

Yes, I am fully aware that France has a very impressive Military and economy. But in the wqorld of politics, even the French are not stupid enough to even consider waging all-out war with America or even sending a tesk-force if Quebec was in danger of being "subjugated". Also, they would have no such duristiction in the matter.

$1:
It's the opposite.

Sarcozy want to revive olds relationships between Quebec and France. If you were listening news at the place of your misconceptions, you would know it.

Then please explain to me then why he was all buddy-buddy and talking about improving relations with Canada and improving Canada-Quebec relations.

I recall many a Seperatist throwing hissy-fits over his comments...

ccstrong ccstrong:
Quebeois fell little connecton to france no matter what france feels about even if france feels they are their close bretherin

Quebecois are some of the greatist people i know now they should not have any extreme special treatment but they should not leave

Finally! Another voice of reason! :P
