I can hardly wait!!!
But here's my prediction: The judge will be under political pressure not to release the tape citing some obscure concerns...us Natives will be outraged because the government is covering up murder and conspiracy at the highest levels...the tape will be leaked (by the police but they'll blame the Indians) and the Judge will halt the inquiry because of it and no one will be held accountable.
Now lets see, I have my google set to update me the minute anything happens.
Not yet....
Explosive Ipperwash Tapes Not Relevant "Yet"
Well, I might be an old man when I get to hear these tapes. I wonder how much $$$ the government spin doctors are making trying to put a positive spin on this crap.
It's going to come out eventually, Donny. The governments in this country may be used to stonewalling until issues just disappear, but it's becoming very apparent that doesn't work anymore. They tried it here with JJ Harper, they tried it in Saskatoon with the Stonechild kid, and they've been trying it over Ipperwash for over eight years.
People, not just natives, are fed up with this crap so they keep bringing it up. Don't give up on it, the truth will come out.
Yeah don't give up. The best thing you can do is just be a prick in the ass of the government about it. Join lobby groups, start your own. Email MP's and MPP's and what not. Email Justices. Snail Mail them. Anything that will cause them trouble will help the truth get out.
BTW I don't know much about the Ipperwash case.. Can someone give me a summary?
Natives took over a park (after the season was over) that was supposed to be their land. They had (still have) a legitimate claim to the park and the dajcent military base.
The OPP tried to intimidate them into leaving and, when that didn't work, beat the crap out of them. When the natives still wouldn't leave, the OPP opened fire. They mortally wounded Dudley George and wounded a kid on a bus. There is a fair bit of evidence that they then did everything possible to keep George from receiving medical treatment.
There is also evidence that the OPP had orders from Mike Harris' office to attack the natives and to use violence if necessary.
There's a book about it called "One Dead Indian" that you should read, Laconfir. That will give you a pretty good idea of the scope of the issue.
