Is this sight left or right wing?
I have a question for all you people. Everyone sees the media as leaning in one direction or the other. I am wondering about what you feel about this site.
I noticed a couple things about the banners. There is one to eliminate poverty worldwide and there is another one to stop integration with USA. Both issues could be considered left of center. At the same time, I am finding the forums a little bit more right of center. I am finding more Liberal-Conservative viewpoints than Bloc-NDP. So this site can be considered balance.

I tend to really not think about such pathetic issues. I come here to post and get some chuckles outta the jokes forum, not to bitch about political this and left right center of my 90 degree to your south east or some other crap.

I agree with you. I don't think Canadaka is biased. I know what you mean with the "no deep integration with the usa" banner but I don't really consider it as "left wing only". Right wing canadians may as well be concerned of losing their canadian identity.
The same thing is true about the "eliminate poverty" banner. You don't turn into a cruel being who want more poverty when you lean to the right

The opposition to Deep Integration is a conservative stance since it is an issue of national sovereignty. Regional and trans-national governance such as the UN and etc. are typically advanced by liberals as 'progressive' measures.
Eliminating poverty would really not be liberal or conservative. While liberals and conservatives may disagree on the solutions and causes of poverty I think we're all in agreement that it is a problem that humanity should address.
As a conservative I find the site to be pretty fair and open and while it is kind of left-ish, I feel more comfortable here than I do at Free Republic.
Sites pretty balanced with a healthy mix of both left wing and right wing opinion floating around. A person on ether side of the political spectrum would be more comfortable here then on some other forums.

In the US maby in Canada Liberals keep are sovereignty more then Conservative Governments. Thats the main reason i think they keep getting elected. But now i dont think the Libs are doing enough for are sovereignty we'll see if they actually give the military the amount they promiced
It depends which side of centre you stand on. I personally think it's fairly balanced with lots of views on both sides.

Balance is the one thing we actually try and achieve. I personally am a little right of centre on most issues and am a nationalist. Everyone here can discuss their view point as long as they don't try and shove it down peoples throat or are something like a racist. A vibrant discussion of an issue is what is hoped for, but not a name calling flame war. I hope you consider that balanced.

OMG....... talk about taking it out of context.........LOL
Well if your not wishy washy about it, it makes it a lot easier to ban you for it. Wishy washy means we have to think about it for several seconds......

I don't agree with you, although I respect that you stopped to think about this. Depending on where you look, it seems like either right-wing or left-wing ideologies reign supreme, but I find the site as a whole to be fairly balanced.

I wouldn't disagree with this per se, but I suspect some people would be surprised with it.
I think that Canadian politics itself is unusual, and this site follows the general run of the country.
The Canadian political spectrum is analogous to any western country's or America's, with the exception that a strong anti-American sentiment among a segment of the population makes it possible to have a significant leftist
and patriotic group. It's an unusual combination, and virtually non-existant anywhere else.
How can you suggest that patriotism and left-wing ideology are separate.
I would suggest that many of those who believe in left-wing ideals are among the most patriotic -- they want to make things even better.
I started posting here because, except for some shining bright lights, this was a hopeless morass of socialist rhetoric. Almost all of them were like catty, little school girls who giggles and twittered when Steven Harpers hair was mentioned, or cluck like cynical old fishwives when someone didn't parrot the Red book party line. It was opressive at first, but it has gotten better, thanks to a table leg or two.
Gee, you don't say?

Ahhh, so what your trying to say is that all those who don't support Harper i are communists? Sen. McCarthy, I think your mistaken. You can be left of centre without being a "commi" or quote "The Red Book". Thats just being silly and closed minded ridenrain.
