I'm a huge fan of that show (Penn & Teller Bullshit). I remember when I first saw that episode, I was like omfg.
When I first moved up here to separatist country, I remember I got approached to sign like 3 petitions in one week. It was mad. The first one was this old lady whom I didn't feel like saying no to, so I was like 'fine'. I can't even remember what it was about.
The second time was something at the university, I also can no longer remember what about.
But the third time is marked well in my memory, because that was when I said no way. Some hippie chick approaches my friends and me, and she asks us to sign a petition to free the Guantanamo prisoners... and there I was like, bitch what are you fucking stupid? You're going to send that thing to whom exactly? The White House? Those a-holes don't even care about what their own citizens think, let alone what a bunch of dumbass French-Canadian hippies from some shitty little university think.
So I said no, and she was like shocked that someone said no, you could really tell that she was flabbergasted. People where I live are not used to being contradicted, and they're used to everyone thinking roundabout the same thing. Because here, if you don't think like the majority, you just keep your mouth shut about it and save it for the ballot box. Going against the ultra-left, very vocal Quebec nationalism here is like unheard of. They don't know how to react when they encounter someone who is vocally against them.
Myself, I don't give a shit about showing my colours because they're just going to write me off as 'an English' anyway. They expect me to be a federalist. But a francophone risks being rejected from their own group of friends if he gets too vocal about being a proud Canadian. Risks being labelled a square.

I was at Wal-Mart the other day with my buddy buying a new hockey stick. He needed some hockey tape, and a grabbed a roll of Team Canada tape. He was like, no way. I was puzzled by this, because even though my buddy is a francophone, he is a federalist and he loves Canada and being Canadian. So I ask him, what gives? He says that his (franco) friends would basically give him shit or make fun of him for it. And I was like, fuck them dude, if they would make fun of you for that then they aren't very good friends. You can't be afraid to show your colours.
He was like, 'well I'm not afraid to mention that I'm pro-Canada if the subject comes up, but I don't want to throw it in their faces.' I said 'throw it there faces with hockey tape? That's ridiculous.'

If that video is any guage it would seem that not only there is a case for ending women's suffrage but universal suffrage as well. These are the people who elect our governments and influence policy with their votes-----scary.........
