He has a point there is a difference Torture and Stress techniques
and while torture should never be allowed
and highly stressful techniques should be almost certainly avoided
if you were an interrogater with a prisoner who knew where a Nuclear warhead was hidden that would explode in toronto would you use stress techniques IE playing loud music making him sit in uncomfortable positions putting a bag over his head

Then he gives you information that is not real, or confesses to a crime he never comitted all because you are a dumbass and cant to your job without torturing a person.

Why would I bow my head...I don't agree with his statement /quote from the artical..but then again he has been hanging out in the good old U.S of A..for quite some time..seems he has picked up a few bad habits.

Sorry Jay, I didn't know you were an expert in interview techniques.
Perhaps you can explain why standard interview techniques like hold back evidence, corroboration, statement analysis, polygraph, etc are incompatible with physical coercion?

I disagree. Torture should only be allowed in extremely rare and very very extreme cases. To say that is should be allowed all the time is rediculous and quite scary.

In this day of age Torture is in tolerable by ANY government as "Ethnic Cleansing" and "Slavery". I am starting to get very angry about people saying that low ethics, theft, and now......TORTURE is the Liberal way? COME ON NOW PEOPLE! This is getting ridiculous. If this it truly the way Michael Ignatieff thinks I doubt he has much of a future is a leader.
To all the Tory flamers, I say relax it is going to be a long while before a new leader is chosen. After the gang that tainted the Liberal party (Now turffed out of the party) the next leader will have to be pure as the driven snow (or as close as a politician can be).
As to how can anybody now join the Liberal Party of Canada. I CAN AND WILL but that is for an other thread I have already gone too far off topic.

I don't seriously think anyone is suggesting that Liberals believe in the use of torture, though you'd get a serious debate when it came to some CBC programming.

Yeh, who the hell keeps deleting stuff.
Closing a thread yes, deleting absolutely not.
