As for the Liberals not changing, you are simply blinded by your hatred. The Liberals under Dion shifted farther left in a great many way, a side already with splitting the vote with 2 other parties. They lost support on the right while failing to pick it up on the left.

They shifted further right to become a more centrist party under Iggy which is exactly why they are regaining that support.

The reform party was batshit crazy and supported by pretty much only religious nut jobs and racists and the Alliance were only a marginal improvement although Harper at least made a decent attempt to drive out some of the religious/racist freaks.

The CPC party is so busy pandering nobody knows what they are anymore. Gone are any sense of so called "fiscal conservatism". Gone are any belief that conservatives don't pander, pork, appoint, or engage in all the politics they blamed on the Liberals. Gone are any belief they will save the military and now with a massive debt, gone are any belief they deserve any "true conservatives" support. You guys just have nobody left to support to so Harper can pander all he wants to leftists causes knowing full well that you blue sheeples have no other party with which to even threaten to vote for. I see a few people here with both CPC and NDP but considering those 2 parties are ideologically opposite what they really mean to say is "I hate the Liberals no matter what".

Not one word of complaint would you have raised had Harper forged a coalition to defeat Martin. Not one word of complaint over the Chretien years would you have uttered had they dispensed with any Con leader in the same manner as an emergency effort to find and replace a leader quickly.

I don't have any problem with how the Liberals did it. Quite frankly I'm proud and impressed everybody put away their partisan bickering to find solidarity.
