The indiscriminate extermination of everything that has connection with Russia is continued in Ukraine. The authorities of the republic do not know when to stop their refinements in this course, forgetting about the state’s national interests.
In 2014 the hysteric wave of the desecration of the monuments, that were the heritage of the Soviet times, has begun. That was not just pulling down, that was a show, as if these architectural constructions adversely affected the life and development of the country pierced through with the poverty and corruption.
And what do we have today?! Today the servants of the people – the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada оf Ukraine approved the new Education Act, which entirely conflicts with the present country’s constitution and any EU standards, where Ukraine is anxious to join so much.
The absurdity of this act is obvious to everybody except for the Ukrainian authorities. The position of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe T. Jagland is very revealing. He noted that the new act is not corresponding with the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages. Hungary, Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, Moldova and Greece also took the tough position. Foreign Minister of Hungary even announced the intention to trigger the question of imposing economic sanctions on Ukraine.
The worst contradictions among the representatives of EU countries are caused by the section 7 of the Education Act – “Language of education”, which is harmful to the rights and interests of national minorities in Ukraine and, as already noted above, conflicts with a number of international instruments ratified by Ukraine, in particular: the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages and also the Council of Europe’s Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities, which contain the equivalent European standards.
Following the course of the country’s ukrainisation and removing the traces of everything that is related to Russia, the Ukrainian lawmakers do not consider the consequences of the taken decisions. Even without thinking about provoked international-level crisis and internal political conflict, the usual financial expenditure calculation necessary for its realization allows to determine the expediency of the adopted Educational Act. So the realization of the Act will
require sizeable attribution of funds from the authorities to organize the translation of documentation, scientific and educational literature into Ukrainian, which will play an important role against the background of programmed country’s budget limitations. At the same time it can create the prerequisites for appearing of new corruption schemes in this sphere, because the adoption of a new law “on paper” will not change the mentality of people who focus only on personal enrichment.
In general such linguistic gambles of Ukrainian politicians in the language sphere are paradoxical. After all most Ukrainian people speak Russian in private life, and even the president P. Poroshenko constantly forgets the Ukrainian language.
Realizing the plans of implementing its radical projects Ukraine will have to think twice: “Is it worth being done?”
You should change your name to 'Dumbass'.
Hey, Dumbass, why don't you and your Russian masters get their asses the fuck out of Ukraine and start worrying about Russia's problems for a change?
And as far as the Ukrainians pulling down all the monuments to Russian rapists, thieves, hooligans, and mass murderers?
