I agree, but there will be another poll out shortly that will support the Conservatives as well. And spin doctors for both parties will find some good. And things could easily swing back again... IMHO, I think voters aren't too trustful of Harper and the Conservatives. I am also of the opinion that voters (like me) think they are just out for personal gain and are NOT interested in what's best for the country.
After all that, I hope these numbers slow down the talk of elections and non-confidence votes.
And who says polls are right anyways? Remeber the last election? All the pollsters were made to look like fools after the results came in.
Either way, I often find polls absurd. I don't really think there is a correlation between what we want and what we need.
Heh. That's awesome.
In Ontario the Conservatives have fallen 2 points behind the NDP. In Ontario the LIberals are running at 48% to the Tories at 22%. Even the "polls don't mean anything" crowd have to be concerned with those numbers.
Just about every election in the last few years were way different than the polls predicted. The last election in BC sure didn't turn out the way the polls said it would. NDP won way more seats than predicted, the Greens lost popular vote from 14% to 9%, none of this was expected. If we listened to the polls in the last Federal election, Harper is the PM today.
Who was that Canadian politician who said "Polls are for the dogs, and you know what dogs do to polls"
It is frustrating to see those numbers but what do you do, give up?
I sometimes wonder if anyone is perfect enough to lead the conservative party for some of you folks. I'd bet a young, energetic, well educated mother Teresa would be slammed because someone giggled at her clothes.
When the election happens, it will probably be another Liberal minority and if it is a Conservative win, it will be shades of Kim Campbell all over again.
If the Conservatives win the next election I will be pleasantly surprised. The Liberals seem to have sold their collective souls to the Devil because no matter what they do, they still manage to cling to power. I suspect that when they lose, it will be because Hell has officially frozen over.
