No they're not. It has been documented at length just how much FOX news distorts the news, has an obvious political bias, and essentially is another arm of the right-wing echo chamber that has spawned the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Bill Kristol, et. al.

sasquatch2 @ Mon Mar 24, 2008 8:45 pm

There has been authenticated evidence of no warming and in fact a general cooling for a decade.

That said, I am somewhat dubious that the IPCC has fallen on it's sword.

The IPCC has been thoroughly exposed as a propaganda organ for a political agenda and despite recent developements and the end of KYOTO.....it is doubtful that it's zealots would so easily abandon their cause. They have a critical mass of brainwashed lemmings who will lie, fabricate, deceive and possibly kill to support the cause. The posts here are evidence of that.

Without GW the IPCC looses it's raison d'etre. Buearocrats don't quit---they must be fired.

Yeah, because a truly impartial news organization like say, oh I don't know, the CBC would never slant the news towards their political preference, would they?

They might though, you know. Ever seen this one?

CBC photoshops smokestacks to sell Kyoto

Nevertheless, I'm not sure it matters. It wasn't just Fox reporting the news IPCC head, Rajendra Pachauri, admitted to the temperature plateau we've been experiencing below 1998 temperatures.

Apparently it was even in the left-leaning The Guardian.

$1:
So it was interesting to see IPCC Chairman Rajendra Pachauri exhibit "misguided" behavior when he expressed some surprise about recent climate trends in The Guardian:

"Rajendra Pachauri, the head of the U.N. Panel that shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize with former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, said he would look into the apparent temperature plateau so far this century".

http://sciencepolicy.colorado.edu/prome ... ent_c.html

The story even made it all the way to Australia...

$1:
She replied: "No, actually, there has been cooling, if you take 1998 as your point of reference. If you take 2002 as your point of reference, then temperatures have plateaued. This is certainly not what you'd expect if carbon dioxide is driving temperature because carbon dioxide levels have been increasing but temperatures have actually been coming down over the last 10 years."

Duffy: "Is this a matter of any controversy?"

Marohasy: "Actually, no. The head of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) has actually acknowledged it. He talks about the apparent plateau in temperatures so far this century. So he recognises that in this century, over the past eight years, temperatures have plateaued ... This is not what you'd expect, as I said, because if carbon dioxide is driving temperature then you'd expect that, given carbon dioxide levels have been continuing to increase, temperatures should be going up ... So (it's) very unexpected, not something that's being discussed. It should be being discussed, though, because it's very significant."
