I do hope you Canadians can offer some assistance here

I've just been dipping into the CBC stream of the first PM debate of the campaign. The debate is flagged as being in French. Do the candidates - all the candidates - actually speak in French, or do they speak in English and it is then dubbed into French? Listening/watching the CBC.ca coverage, it's rather hard to tell

Well, I myself did not watch the debate. But because Canada's two official languages are French and English, I'd assume that all the leaders of the Political parties would speak both languages.

   

They more or less have to.

But the French is often miserable.
