Partly, Godzilla. My dad is a Franco from Quebec City and me mum is an Anglo from Winnipeg. I'm of German-French-Polish ancestry but consider myself an unhyphenated Canadian.

Having grown up on the West Island, my first language is English, but there was this HORRIBLE, CRUEL and OPPRESSIVE law that required my parents to enroll me in French school. So I ended up bilingual. Tragic eh?

   

I don’t know how many RIGHTS have to be taken from you before you stand up and act like a man.

Its ok in your world to diminish another person’s language and culture if it props yours up, is that what your saying?

It’s ok in your world to say you are more important than the others is it?

They haven’t taken away anything important, just your right to be an equal, not a second-class citizen.but thats not unreasonable to you.

You want to keep Quebec in Canada then use your vote.oh ya that’s right they stole them out of the ballot boxes the last referendum didn’t they but you probably thank that’s not unreasonable.

When are you going to grow up and learn you don’t have to kiss someone’s ass to have your rights or keep them in Canada?

Your attitude is don’t complain and they wont leave Canada.
As annoying as these laws are, I prefer them to living in an independant "Republique du Quebec"!

What if they started to discriminate against people’s color or religion would that be ok with you or is it just your rights that you are willing to sell out?

You only prove that there are still people that are afraid to stand up and fight for what is right.

Do you think that there is a person left in Quebec that hasn’t made up their minds about where there loyalties lie?

Do you think that a true Canadian / Canadien wants this two tiered system of civil liberties?

But I have forgotten your battle cry .
Only fight when you know you will win and don’t get them mad no matter what they do or they will leave.

Its people like you that enabl them to take away the rights of others.

as for the language polities, i very gratefull that is still on because that as make possible in quebec to communicate in french!! if that laws would nevers existed...our language would be dead and buried with the incoming immigrant from all the world that they would choose english instead of french.

Even the PQ and Bloc always said they wanted to use Canadian money, keep their goverment pensions,Canadian mail,Canadian Passports....
And yet did not want to take Quebec's share of the deficit.
And than there was a vote on seperation with terriable wording and the pricks still lost.But yet the bitching keeps going and going.......

You probably forgot that Quebec has a positive trade balance, that 2/3 of its total production (goods and services) are exported outside of Canada (U.S. and the world),, that 2/3 of its imports are not sourced from the rest Canada but from the U.S. and Europe.
You seem to also have forgotten that Quebec, as a country, would be the size (GDP) of Belgium and better than Switzerland, the poor Saudi Arabia, Greece, Portugal Switzerland and would be double Austria, Norway Denmark or Findland....which all do not quite fit the definition of third world countries.

Imagine starting a country from scratch.
All the trade agreements are Canadian not just Quebec.New ones would have tobe created not as easy as you think.Quebec would be dealing from a weak point of view because all the countries would know how desperate they would be.
New money because the rest of Canada would not put up with Quebec using ours.Think about the politics of it.The voters would hang any MP that tried to say let them keep using Canadian money.
New Passports,New Military to pay for,and a big ass chunk of deficit.
None of the provinces could make it on their own I admit.But Quebec is the only one that is talking of seriously trying.
Not that this will happen.In the end its all talk so they can get more from the rest of Canada.
I have an idea lets have a vote.
Not whether Qubec leaves but if the rest of Canada Throughs their crying asses out.
