except with a final bracket on the end. You need to right click to properties over the picture and get the link for the image, instead of for the whole page.
But this sounds over hyped. So what if it is easier to travel in North American?

The purpose of this article was not to raise red flags concerning a highway... more to highlight how far along this plan really is.

Wish they'd hurry and finish up with the sovereignty issue so everyone will stop whining.
Sovereignty is found from within one's own mind.

Sounds alarmist.
It's a US government website!!!!!No, this is alarmist
BartSimpson BartSimpson:
Harper, Fox, and Bush signed this travesty that lays the foundation for removing our borders (hope you folks like Mexicans because they'll just LOVE Health Canada!) and creating a supranational, unelected, and unaccountable government to usurp democratic rule.
BartSimpson BartSimpson:
As I hear on the radio this morning
Sean Hannity? Rush Limbaugh? G. Gordon Libby? NPR? Just curious. Its a serious question.
Is this initiative not due to 9/11? After 9/11, America told Canada and Mexico that the US would be increasing security along its border, and either the two countries would have to expect increased security delays or would have to align their security policies more to the US. I thought this iniative was an outcome of that American security issue.
Here's what it says
$1:
The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP) was launched in March of 2005 as a trilateral effort to increase security and enhance prosperity among the United States, Canada and Mexico through greater cooperation and information sharing.
This trilateral initiative is premised on our security and our economic prosperity being mutually reinforcing. The SPP recognizes that our three great nations are bound by a shared belief in freedom, economic opportunity, and strong democratic institutions.
The SPP provides the framework to ensure that North America is the safest and best place to live and do business. It includes ambitious security and prosperity programs to keep our borders closed to terrorism yet open to trade.
The SPP builds upon, but is separate from, our long-standing trade and economic relationships. It energizes other aspects of our cooperative relations, such as the protection of our environment, our food supply, and our public health.
Looking forward, President Bush, Prime Minister Harper and President Fox have identified emergency management; influenza pandemics, including avian influenza; energy security; and safe and secure gateways (border security and facilitation) as key priorities for the SPP. The Leaders also announced the creation of North American Competitiveness Council to fully incorporate the private sector into the SPP process.

The emphasis is on security.
The security agenda

And the prosperity agenda, which sure doesn't look any different than any trade deal ever signed, only less so

Except this isn't for making it easier for people to travel, only finished goods and natural resources. You can probably expect it to actually become more difficult to travel once this comes into effect.
Notice that there is no car symbol on that colourful video game-like map, only means of moving material goods about.
yea eh the soothing pastel colours all most make you feel good about it

Good find , good work Bart , keep us updated. I listen to tons of streaming US based talk radio ( anybody but RUSH just don't care for his style) What show did you hear it on ? maybe I can catch a rebroadcast .
Some no-name was filling in for Michael Savage (who is waaaaay over the top but is pretty good in his lucid moments) who ran with this and gave the website out over the air. As the radio host pointed out, the SPP dovetailed with the North American Union proposal and the full document mentions implementation of a NAU on July 1, 2010 - the NAU includes a supranational court that will be able to supersede the High Courts of our countries in any matter deemed to be regional and not national in scope.
That's just about anything.
Good grief. "Alarmist"? Sounds more like total paranoia to me.

Yea thats Peter Wissbeck ( dudes from Canada originaly) I listened a bit , got bored , it just not the same without the Savage. Mike thinks he should take hoildays of all things. We're not allowed to have his kind of fire and brimstone talk radio in Canukastan
Once this super union goes through, we can all get ready for life in the gulag. This will become a martial law police state on steroids. The elitists will roam at will, and the rest of the peons will either be liberated with a bullet to the head or live in indentured slavery. That is our future under a united canada, u.s. and mexico. This security and prosperity horseshit is an freaking abomination. Security has become synonymous with the gutting of democratic process and rights. Look at the nsa illegal wiretapping in the states, the no-fly lists, scrapping of habeus corpus, the posse comatatis bill, on and on and on. The U.S. constitution has been trashed, all in the hallowed name of "security", and the son of a bitch harper wants us to hook up with that bandwagon and do the same here. I think bush caught him on tape screwing his pet goat and now were gonna get screwed. Security and Prosperity all right - FOR WHOM???

There'll be no more need for elections , so yea thats a pretty accurate assessment.
