I love how they failed to mention how many people left when the Red, Grit and Liberal Parties merged together.....

Good read though....

Former Tory prime minister Joe Clark says there is no credible future prime minister among the leaders of the three Opposition parties -- Conservative Stephen Harper, the NDP's Jack Layton and Gilles Duceppe of the Bloc Quebecois.

Clark warned the current tactics of the Opposition coalition -- insisting Liberal Prime Minister Paul Martin call an election by February or they will force a Christmas campaign -- could backfire.

Voters are not enthusiastic, he said.

"The Opposition has the burden of proving either that there is some reason to move more quickly or that, if an election happens precipitously, it's not their fault," Clark said.

I thought Halloween was over.
Back to the crypt with you, you foul specter.

Joe Clark's a decent person but a totally spent force politically. He could have stayed with the Conservatives but it wouldn't have made any difference.

The saddest thing about all this is that it was so predictable. The old Alliance had something like four or five times as many members as the PC at the time of the merger. There was absolutely no way it could be a marriage of equals.

In any case it's nice to see former Tories moving over to other parties.

hehe.. Those Conservatives - what a bunch of screwups!

Well, it cost them my vote too. In the past I voted PC, but the Cons are far too right wing for me.

Reguardless of what the polls say, they have been able to raise a great deal of money for the election fight.. and they didn't even have to steal it.
