Tories hired U.S. telemarketer during election,

The Citizens.
The citizens don't give a fuck. Not even hitting on the radar. The CPC still at 36% in the poll as of yesterday.
Mr. and Mrs. Voter just see more shady politicians looking to score points. Nothing new to see.

All it takes is for them to realize that they hold all the power, and then the only place for them to go is up. Citizens have the most to gain, and the Ottawa Snow Weasel will become endangered.
And I know quite a few citizens for whom this is very much in the radar.

I'm sure bestiality is also on the radar of a few voters, doesn't mean dick-all at the end of the day.

I thought it was gay midget porn?
Either way though, a non-sequitr does not make for winning debates.

So, are you suggesting suspected crimes should only be investigated if the "citizens do give a fuck?". I can see the headlines now: "bank robbery this morning. Should police investigate? Yes or no."

Where's this poll, I haven't seen a poll done in months.
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/pol ... le2357747/The poll was taken between Feb 25 -29. I doubt that it reflects the robocalls, though the other problems of late seem to have fallen flat.

It wouldn't reflect the robo-calls despite being taken in the week that it had a huge amount of coverage?

The point is, the citizens don't care one way or another if anyone is found guilty. They, and most of you, have already placed guilt on the CPC Party, without any evidence at all.
Their opinion of politicians is already super-low and sadly, this type of behaviour is expected which is why isn't not affecting them in the polls.

The poll was the day after and for the next couple of days. Many early respondents would not have known of the robocalls and the in those few days, it was generally thought to be a limited event.

I thought I'd resurrect this thread for the latest updates. It seems Front Porch did more than make some phone calls for them. Tsk tsk tsk.
Republicans on ground in Canada helped elect Harper's Tory government
$1:
Directors of Republican-tied U.S. Front Porch Strategies were in Ontario helping Conservative candidates during the 2011 election campaign, the company admitted to the Vancouver Observer. This contradicts previous Tory claims that Front Porch Strategies only assisted with teleforums, and is an apparent violation of Canadian election laws barring foreign political involvement.
PJ Wenzel and Matthew Parker -- director and CEO of the Columbus, Ohio-based firm, respectively – participated directly in at least two Canadian Conservative campaigns, according to social media updates and a photograph from the successful election campaigns of Associate Defence Minister Julian Fantino and MP Rick Dykstra, Immigration Minister Jason Kenney's Parliamentary Secretary.
“They (Wenzel and Parker) were in Ontario for a day and a half (in April), for the purpose of acquiring new clients,” Front Porch Strategies' Canadian liaison and political consultant Jim Ross told the Vancouver Observer.
“They knocked on doors for roughly an hour with Rick (Dykstra), traditional canvassing to identify support. While waiting for a delayed meeting, they made roughly 30 minutes worth of phone calls for Minister Fantino, again to identify support.”
But Ross stated that Wenzel and Parker's involvement was limited to brief campaign volunteering in April.
Dykstra, Fantino, and Front Porch Strategies did not respond to phone calls and emails from The Vancouver Observer, but updates on the latter's social media seems to confirm that the two U.S. Strategists were in Canada helping Conservative candidates win the election.
U.S. strategists working “in the trenches” for Tory candidates
“Matt and PJ headed to Toronto tomorrow to campaign for Conservative Candidates!” Front Porch Strategies posted on their official Facebook page on April 18, 2011. “Nothing like getting in the trenches with terrific people who are going to make a difference once elected.”
The next day, Front Porch's Facebook page featured a photograph of Parker, telephone in hand, as he looked over what appears to be a voter contact list and a poster stating: “Election day is Monday, May 2. YOU CAN VOTE NOW.” The name “Fantino” can be seen in the window in the background.
...
“Our passion is helping Republican candidates, elected officials, and conservative causes win by personally connecting them with voters and constituents,” Front Porch Strategies' website reads.
And win they did -- all 14 Conservative campaigns that hired Front Porch Strategies emerged winners in the election.
Front Porch Strategies denies illegal calls
According to a CBC News source connected to Front Porch Strategies, the company masked the phone calls it made during its 14 Canadian election campaigns to appear as if the numbers were from the local Conservative campaign headquarters, and not Ohio.
