The Liberals post-convention bounce has officially ended. The onus is on Dion now.

New poll suggests Conservatives, Liberals in political dead heat
OTTAWA (CP) - A new poll suggests that at year's end, the Conservatives and Liberals were in a virtual dead heat in political support.
The Decima Research survey, made available to The Canadian Press, suggests the Conservatives had 34 per cent support, compared with 31 per cent for the Liberals, a spread within the poll's 3.1-percentage-point margin of error.
The survey suggests the NDP had 15 per cent support, the Bloc Quebecois had 10 per cent and the Green party had eight per cent.
In Ontario and Quebec, however, the survey numbers indicate the Liberals had an edge on the Tories.
The poll gave the Liberals 40 per cent support in Ontario, compared with 35 per cent for the Conservatives, 13 per cent for the NDP and 11 per cent for the Greens. In Quebec, the Bloc had 41 per cent, compared with 27 per cent for the Liberals, 14 per cent for the Tories, 11 per cent for the NDP and five per cent for the Greens. The margins of error are higher for regional samples.
The poll of 1,012 people was conducted Dec. 27-30. The national results have a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.

Reminds me of the Liberals parading their polls in late 2006 in public, when they were at 30 (as I recall) and the Conservatives were at 28.
"We're statistically tied! Whoo hoo!"
Some more good work by Harper and the government should extend this lead.
Wait till we stick chrétien to dion, the NDP might pass the liberals.

Not to worry Pat. This mornings coffee meeting with various members of a volunteer team was most informative. It did indeed discuss the Conservative climb, but more importantly we talked about a surge of people coming into the office and emailing asking for more information on specific portions of the Conservative agenda...The real one, not the one the Liberals created. Many folks say they had thought the conservatives would eat Canada alive and leave nothing but bones for the Liberals to clean up, but in fact have seen nothing but good things come out of Harper and his crew. This is good news as it means people are actually paying attention and wanting to know more. Bad news is I've been told I need to do some photocopying tonight when I'm doing my shift....

Er, let me see. After the 'Whoo hoo!' by Liberals, Conservatives got 124 seats, and Liberals were down below hundred.
So this time, given the situation, we can expect an easy win for Liberals if the election is held tomorrow!
According to the polls, whoever is lower wins, right?
