Oh don't flatter yourself; this was amateurish.

What's even worse...it's effective. Doesn't speak well to intellect of the electorate.

I sure hope Trudeau hits back hard. I don't know what kind of leader he'll be and I don't know what kind of party the Libs will be in 2 years, but the tories absolutely disgusted me with that completely out of context quote about Quebecers being better. Honestly I think they just lost any chance of getting my vote next time. There are more than enough real issues to attack Trudeau on. This is kind of a "soldiers with guns" kind of thing to me.

Really? You don't think Canadians have realized that the extremely expensive Action Plan ads which push Harper's government in every ad are propaganda? Sitting down to watch a show with family and the Action Plan ads were the single most hated commercial of them all because we have been bombarded by them to the point we are sick of it.

Harper has one old line of a very charismatic person, Trudeau has years of lies, backstabbing, and overall dishonesty from a person dryer than the Sahara Desert. Trudeau also won't be hit before he was prepared, everyone knew the attack ads would come, it's a standard tactic by the Harper Conservatives, plenty of time to prepare a retaliation.

Keep in mind the little orange icon next to your username. Of course those ads bother you, you're an NDP supporter. All governments advertise, I'm guessing this is the only time it's bothered you. I'd venture a guess that if it was a politician on the left running the Country, those ads wouldn't bother you at all.

There will be a lot more people talking about that JT ad than anyone's ever talked about those action plan ads. You can be sure of that.

I find the extreme misuse of funds to advertise a political party while calling for spending cuts to be an underhanded way of getting around the cuts in advertising spending to all political parties. It's a disgusting misuse of public funds that I want cut to a simple billboard at the construction site which simply tells the program funding it, that's all the advertising it needs. It would also save us millions to use on more projects to help better Canadian communities or provide a nice cut into the deficit.

One quote out of context vs. years of lies and backstabbing, you are awful loving of a man that has proven he doesn't give two shits about what the people in the country believe. The only opinion that matters to Harper is his own and he will say whatever it takes to make people vote for him again even if he has absolutely no intention of even considering the idea.

Billboard or commercial, you'd be unhappy with the advertising unless your party of choice was at the helm. Your bias is clear. Nothing done by this government would work for you.

Sorry, couldn't read you through all the political hackery. Ramp up the rhetoric a little more.

There is plenty of time left for Tory bed shitting.

Enlighten us then. What's the context ? Eg. If the subject is about who's the better hockey player, I'm with you.

Not me. I'd like to see JT and the Liberals take the high road. I'd rather him declare that the Liberals aren't going to play the Conservatives' childish sandbox games. Further, I'd like to see Trudeau promise that a Liberal government would pass legislation banning attack ads. It was better days when political parties in Canada held themselves to standards above American-style bad-mouthing politics.

Bodah Bodah:

Well if it wasn't for the ads I would of never known he uttered the phrase "Quebecers are better than the rest of Canadians". You prefer not to know something like that, um okay.

Did you miss it in the media the odd couple hundred times before the C's even picked it up?

Let the media hack, slash, and misrepresent quotes.

Let politicians woo me with competent platforms.

Over for Trudeau?

<- This is one C that will no longer be a 'C' if the best that the party can come up with is attack ads.

I want them to tell me why they are a better option, not why the competition is worse.

The last seven years escaped you did they?

Justin has an Achilles heel - sooner or later he has to speak.

The Cons would be nuts if they didn't take advantage of that.

xerxes @ Mon Apr 15, 2013 7:41 pm

SOP from the Tories. I heard anti-Mulcair ads for months after he was elected leader of the NDP.

EyeBrock @ Mon Apr 15, 2013 7:58 pm

What a load of old crap. The Tories have become the Liberals.

Trudeau, on our streets, without his shirt, in Canada......

Oh give it a break. The conservatives aren't the ones to bring attack ads to Canada. People sure have short memories or is it selective memories?

On attack ads

" Paul Martin ran ads before the writ period in 2004. Martin ran very sharply negative ads in 2004 and 2006, and had worse ready to run. (One of those leaked and embarrassed Martin. I’m afraid I’ll never really believe that was an accident, although that campaign was certainly capable of accidents.) "

When was the first murder? Using your logic, all murders after that are okay due to the fact someone else did it before them......
