So that's how you debate Godz, by acting like a child. Could you please point me to where i have bashed the U.S. That's seems to be your motto " woe is me everyone is bashing the u.s.a" You watch to much fox news godz it's time for you to get a hobby. You can spin your bullshit any way you want to, but facts are facts the u.s.a. has no right to be in Iraq, they are there because they have the brute force to do it.
Now as for your denegration of Canada again. Do you actually believe the crap you speak? Canada at it's peak had almost 2000 troops in Afghanistan, Australia has 850 soldiers in Iraq, how exactly does that make them a larger contributer? Now I don't think that Chretien said the americans deserved 9/11, I think he said more along the lines of they brought it on themselves, I could be wrong, but regardless, who exactly are these people cheering on Chretien? Certainly not anyone I know. I see from the rest of your post that in your short time in the u.s.a. you have been indoctrinated quite succesfully, and you are towing the company line quite nicely. Your green card is just a few republican blowjobs away.
It is time for to quit lying, Godz. Here is what Chretien actually said:
ya america needs to help us because our prim minister is a total idiot, he has no value to our country, all they do is screw up our canadian image on day at a time!

I'm new to this forum and I have to say I have enjoyed reading the debates about US/ Canada. I love the US because it is home to me, but I have to say Canada does kick ass in many ways! I tend to adopt a "can't we all just chill and enjoy the best of each other" view as opposed to a "my horse is bigger than yours" attitude. We don't have to be the same to get along. Take a lesson from your closest friends. Chances are there's smthg different (that you probably love) about each one of them. And yeah, they're gonna drive you crazy sometimes, but so f****** what! The two countries are like apples and oranges. The most obnoxious writer on this forum by far IMHO is Godz46. I know you're pro-America and all but damn dude. You need to chill out a little. I mean you're not even American yet Take a lesson from Michael Jackson...There's nothing more disgusting than someone who isn't proud of where they come from. No matter how much he bleaches his skin and looks whiter than the average white person, he's always gonna be "that ridiculously confused brotha" who should have been taught to love himself "as is" when he was a kid. Same goes for you man. I mean c'mon you spout so much hate for the country you're "really" from just because you've decided to adopt this one. It's impossible to respect your opinions as anything but biased and ridiculously funny. You sound like you wanna be American so bad, but dude you need to chill a little! It's ridiculous! You're Canadian man! Stand up for your country just like we do over here
...It's called patriotism
very well spoken and welcome to our humble abode.
It's nice to see someone who knows how to keep it real! dknychic proves that there are cool Americans out there just as surely as Godzilla proves that some Canadians can be pretty dogmatic and unreasonable (at least until he renounces his Canadian citizenship!)
Thanks for the warm welcome guys . I just started frequenting discussion forums (both American and Canadian) a few days ago and so far this seems to have the most intelligent exchanges, so kudos to whoever started it. Anyways......back to the topic at hand (or what it was before it turned into the battle of the north americans) If the US can cross the ocean to "liberate" countries by instilling the fear of democracy into them, then yeah, they will set their eyes on trying to influence their neighbors next door. Not saying that Canada doesn't do the same. I don't know too much about that, so I won't comment on it . A lot of the things that canada stands for is a threat to the current fundamental right's vision for the US. I mean actually taking a stand for what you believe is right as opposed to blindly following what is fed to you by the almighty, infallible US gov't, legalizing pot, and now, gay marriages. You're right next door, and some of the things that make the fabric of your society sane at least to some people are the same things that irk the people in power in the US so much and probably religious groups in Canada as well. So yeah, they're gonna flex their muscles to see if they can change that but I doubt that it will influence the eventual outcome. So far, I think in North America, only the US has fallen prey to the disease that demands that gov't infuse religious beliefs into politics
It's kinda sad, that those are the big issues we choose to get behind as opposed to meaningful debates about how to improve on the economy and such or how to really make the world a better and according to Bush "safer" place for the next generation (without resorting to war). What about trying to reduce or end world poverty? One interesting thing I read recently on the CTV webside is how Canada has completely forgiven the debt of a number of third world countries so they can focus on using their resources to building up their nations. Now, that's what I call trying to make the world a better place
I'm not gay, neither do I smoke pot, but I applaud those who are discerning enough to know that those are not issues that affect the effectiveness of a country. I'm worried about the direction the US is going but what can one do besides stand up for what they believe is right and hope that the majority of the people agrees with them
Anyway, just had to vent a little
Did anyone see the previews for the new pro-gay Simpsons episode. I thought that was interesting especially since it's on FOX. I wonder if it's gonna get pulled too...
Dknychic, it is so refreshing to see an American who is thoughtful and reasonable and articulate.
Have you noticed how the Simpsons ahs been getting more political lately? There's this gay-marriage episode next Sunday, a couple weeks ago there was the one where homer and Grandpa were smuggling medicine into the US from Canada, and then last week, they were making so much fun of the fallout over Janet Jackson's breast ath last years Superbowl.
The thing with The Simpson is that FOX realizes how popular it is and pretty much leaves well enough alone. It's kind of ironic isn't it? FOX "news" is this bastion of far-right conservatism, yet the FOX channel is the home of some of the trashiest TV known to man.
