You're damn right they're all the same. You can lump the Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs in the same group as far as I'm concerned. Let's rid Canada of the whole bunch.
BTW...I'm an equal opportunity hater. I hate everyone, including myself on somedays.

I came across two interesting pieces this morning:

The forum heard many Muslim women who wore the hijab struggled to find work, while men changed their names from Mohammed to Mick to secure employment.
Raidah Shah Idil spoke of her fear of attending a university interview because she wore a hijab. The 23-year-old from Lakemba is now fulfilling her dream of completing a medical degree.
Police Commissioner Ken Moroney stressed the importance of honest, open dialogue and the vital role families played.
Community Relations Commissioner Stepan Kerkyasharian said young Muslims had to confront extremists in their community.
"There are elements of the Muslim community who want to send a message of destruction and hatred. Young people need to speak out about it," Mr Kerkyasharian said.
US Sheikh Naeem Abdul Wali said Muslims were "living in a crux period in Islam's history".
He said many Muslims were opting out of Islam instead of remembering what Islam was really about.

I certainly do not condone murder, but I understand that it happens.
Pretending that WE are so much different than THEM is I think inexcusable. Is what we refer to as a "crime of passion" all that different.
Men/women fight, especially those who know no better and sometimes this leads to murder. As a society we pass laws to try and curb such incidents from happening, knowing it has a failure rate from the beginning. Why do we pretend surprise when an incident like this occurs and why do we pretend to be so much better.
Example WE the US has the highest murder rate per capita of any country in the world and are predominently christian, Quatar a muslim country has none.
Most every society has it's nut cases and ours has more than it's fair share, some home grown and some imported.

Tell me the last time some father killed his daughter because she married someone "below her station". The Womans movement made it very clear that women are free to control their own lives.
That is one thing that must be drummed into the minds of new immigrents. The rights of the individual are more important than religion.

Most have the same attitude as Wanda, deniel and appeasement all the while saying "We" have the same problem also blah blah blah. The truth is that certain Immigrants come into Canada with tribal or religious beliefs that "Allow" them to beat their wives. This is the issue that needs to be addressed not the attitude of "It happens" in society. Of course it does, the difference is we prosecute abusers. These women deserve our protection and education regarding abuse not pandering, limp wristed female attitudes lest they offend the offender. Women's rights groups new motto should be:. Hug a mugger beat the victim up with verbal abuse. Spineless, souless, twits.

What "appeasing"? There is no appeasing going on, no one suggests that "Honour killings" are ok. They are Murder just like the White Husbands that shoot their Wives and Children practically at least once a year because their wife wants a divorce.
What's the difference? Ahh wait, one is murder, the other is a good reinforcement of the racism many here seem to think is "Canadian". Sorry, there's nothing "Canadian" or redeeming about it.

Odd I'm getting just the opposite from this thread. I'm hearing that they want the murderer treated just like anyone else is and that the defense of honor killing is BS. That those who would support such a defense have not and never will assemulate into Canadian culture and thus should leave and or not be allowed entry.
