So your admiting that most of the Canadian industry is basiacly crap should it not receive money from the government.

Quit trying to twist my words...you aren't any good at it.

Any company you work for is pretty much doomed, Godz. They showed an incredible lack of judgement in hiring you, an even greater lack of judgement in not firing you and, according to what you've said on other threads here, could well be facing lawsuits for exposing employees that are members of minority groups to a hostile work environment.

You do not understand the CanCon laws, have no grasp of why those laws were put in place, and lack the wherewithall to comprehend the meaning of culture.

Now explain to me how is that different from the government telling me that X per cent of the things in my home should be Canadian made?
What they would do there, if there was a substantial canadian furniture industry to protect, is apply a tarriff on furniture coming in from countries where it can be made cheaper. You can't really put a tarriff on radiowaves to protect the Canadian music industry. That's really the only difference.

Godz46 Godz46:
Imagine this scenario: Government agents show up on your doorstep, and tell you that at least X per cent of your furniture must be Canadian made (no matter how cheaper or better Furniture from overseas is) or Y per cent of the pictures of your wall must be of Canadian citizens (despite the fact that you have many relatives living in Europe or the US for instance) or N per cent of the food in your fridge must be Canadian made?
Now you're comparing apples and oranges in a really strange way. What do pictures on your wall have to do with industry???

It is because of Canada's content laws that Canada even HAS a film industry. And it is Canada's film industry that has, over the course of the last decade, taken millions right out of Hollywood with 'runaway productions'. Argue that mister pure capitalism is what's best for Canada.

The two muslim girls who work in the office know should they file anyting against me, they themselves will find themselves under a hostile work environment from the others.

This shows your ignorance as to how these suits work, Godz...and an ignorance of the labour laws. If one of those Muslim girls can prove that it was her co-worker who posted that here, you'd be out on your ass faster than you can say lawyer and she'd be suing you as well as your company. You see, it isn't up to your boss or your co-workers, it's a legal matter.

I'm not sure what industry you work in, Godz. I am pretty sure it's one where spelling and grammar are not a requirement though.

Let me understand something..do you really think that after watching say MTV or Al-Jazzera for a couple of hours, your ordinary Joe Canadian will jump out of his sofa and scream "OH MY GOD!! I'M NO LONGER A CANADIAN!!"
I think your missing it, big time: The government is not banning content. The actual show or song can be about anything as long as it was recorded/produced whatever in Canada. Canadians have freedom of speech, no one is saying what can and can't be on these recordings. Nobody is defining what is and isn't Canadian with the exception that it's made in Canada.
