If we were to retain the tradtional couat of arms, shouldn't the Scottish and French quarters get switched? I mean, descendents of the French make up the second largest ethnic group in Canada, shouldn't they be second? Plus then we wouldn't have the blue Irish quarter next to the blue French quarter, which I think is kind of ugly. The chains should be removed from the unicorn.

The only other thing I can suggest is a distinctly Canadian Crown replacing the Imperial Crown that is now used. I mean, if we really are a sovereign nation with a seperate Crown, shouldn't we have seperate crowns? How much could a crown cost anyway?
For the entire Royal Proclamation, go here

Crowns of the British Monarchy have specific meanings. There is a specific Crown the Queen wears while representing Canada. See here and here for photos.

Just to clarify something, the Unicorn supporter on the Canadian Coat of Arms does not represent France or French-speakers, it represents Scotland. Some people may be confused because it is holding up the banner of the King of France. The unicorn is not historically tied with France at all, and the supporters of the Royal Coat of Arms of France were two angels.
