In other words, to 'fix' Canada, we bust it into unrecognizeable pieces. Pieces that some westerners like. It's not a good idea when you talk about 'fixing' something to say outright you're going to exclude Quebecers and maritimers. You might as well add Ontario to the mix, and of course about half of westerners (the ones who don't vote or don't vote conservative). That country is getting smaller all the time-why not just MOVE to the states?
I agree. I posted it so we could see how different the mind set is across Canada. I also liked the way the other person replied to that post. No arguing, just making a few points and asking good questions.
That post is, no joke, dumber than anything that the retarded separatists have EVER posted on this board.

Fix Canada by joining the U.S. Wow, like we all know the U.S. is perfect. Go take a tour of downtown Cleveland and tell me if that's the country you think would be good for us.
America is a unique situation now where the Republican party has sold to the nation the concept that government is useless....to be replaced by free wheeling capitalism....and the people are really starting to believe it in record numbers....because they are largely uninformed, overworked, and cynical.

We are not pursuing a responsible national set of ideals that provides incentives for industries that deliver a quality product, and as a result of the ever increasing bad business ethic in America, the businesses are selling out to overseas and not considering the value of a potent middle class American workforce. America is clearly on the road to proving Marx's theory of the two class system of haves and have nots.

As a result of the Republican free wheeling uncontrolled capitalistic model, each state is having to increasingly fend for itself....this is an important point.. America is losing it's identity...and one by one states are getting into real trouble as their industries go overseas or its workforce gets cheated. America is literally falling apart at the seams. Don't let the "growth" numbers fool you.

Canada...preserve whatever nationalistic spirit you possibly can...and ANY government policy which supports responsible free enterprise...aka those businesses that do provide a quality product for your citizenry. Continue to support the important component of socialism that gives your citizens key benefits. I think history will soon show us that a nation of free enterprise can thrive provided it provides this important safety net work it's workforce.

By God...don't buy into the "growth for the sake of growth" short term economic model that America has pursued...which brings forth on average only the cutthroat industries that salivate for each quarter's growth result.
That post is, no joke, dumber than anything that the retarded separatists have EVER posted on this board.
Well, we're still waiting. Let's hear it you ignorant pompous Englishman, what's your formula to fix Canada? Here's my theory, Canadian Federalism is not broken, it simply doesn't and can't work.

Gilles Duceppe brought up an excellent point yesterday. There are 10,000 (TEN THOUSAND) Health-Care bureaucrats in Ottawa siphoning precious health-care money. How can there possibly be problems with health-care when so many Federal bureaucrats are looking after it? How many other Federal ministries are there that shouldn't exist? Federalists have (always have) every intention and motive to keeping the orgy in Ottawa healthy no matter which Party is hosting it.
Amen to that! Rural canada is closing hospitals, and Ottawa is building a new floor for new medicare bureaucrats. Go to a hospital sometime and see just how much need there is for 'administrators'.

Anytime somebody calls somebody else 'retarded' on here you can pretty much skip over the rest of their comments. Ironically, while the site 'vives' Canada, it's clear that the stories posted here provide far more fodder for the separatist cause than to 'Canada'.

I have friends who are teachers in Sudbury, they built a new administration building on top of a middle school. The children's floors have no air conditioning (they didn't figure they'd need it since it is Sudbury-however it is in the administration floors). Many teachers buy their own teaching accessories but it's all state of the art upstairs!

My personal feeling is that between technology and most companies now being branch plants of american and european companies, without the massive spending in administration in health, education, and other federal and even provincial programs Canada would have a HUGE unemployment problem. This, of course, is one of the things that collapsed the soviet empire...
