Has this party even gained any seats?
It sounds like a party I would vote for, including the CAP, but they all seem just too small. Like another person posted here, the only way they'd win more seats is with money, and that mney unfortunately comes from corporations with other interests in mind.
Does anyone else know how these small parties could gain in stature?

Actually this party has done quite well in building itself up through offline, and online efforts. They have candidates that will run in the next election. They will be on the ballot in many ridings. I believe they are working hard to have candidates in all ridings.

This could spell disaster for the New Conservative Party if they succeed in attracting loyal PC voters, who will see them as the true alternative.

Kevin

Who would vote for this party? The only thing in its favour is its anonymity and fact it hasn't already 'screwed us over'. Virtually all of their 'platforms' are identical to the promises made by the other three parties during the last election, and most are so vague that they're meaningless. Who actually listens when party's say "we believe that". In virtually every case it's possible for a party to make concrete decisions on what it will do, most government documents pertaining to costs are available as are common practises. As they say, the devil is in the details, a party that won't give any is a party to distrust.

Another gang wishing to be the "yes men" to the corruption!
Thats just what we need.
Dennis Baker

Actually the party has had a convention yet. However they did have one recently, or there is one coming up. So to have a detail policy will take time, through conventions where members vote.

As for Mr. Baker's comments, I'm a little confused. Its seems that in his world he is suggesting no government at all. I wonder how exactly that would work.

Kevin

when someone brings my situation to the light of day
then maybe I'll believe!

No one will as the politicians fear the bureocrates.

1)arbitrarily imprisoned
2)Malicously prosecuted
3)Assaulted
4)Tortured
5)prohibited from working
6)prohibited from driving
7)Municipal election rigged against me by media
8)Federal election rigged against me
9) and on and on and on

Dennis Baker
Another gang wishing to be the "yes men" to the corruption!
Thats just what we need.
Dennis Baker
And split the votes. Orchard is smart to avoid them.

KevinGagnon @ Fri Feb 11, 2005 2:50 pm

What is wrong with splitting the vote, if it could quite possibly prevent a majority Liberal or majority Conservative party ???

As long as there is scandal, fed up voters, and vote splitting. The worse that can happen is more minority government. That can't be so bad.

Kevin

Guest @ Fri Feb 11, 2005 3:14 pm

but my scandal will result in some serious effort put into climate change, win/win if you ask me.
Dennis Baker

KevinGagnon @ Fri Feb 11, 2005 3:40 pm
Until there is a real 'centric' party. I will prefer a minority government.

Kevin

If your trying to fool the Centerist as you call them, with a similar tacktic as was used in the last two elections.

Puppet Party that will take a dive (Canadian Action party) or fold prior(Mel Hurtig)!

well you can fool some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time.

The citizens are actualy concerned and payiong attention. Truth will win an election.

Dennis Baker
KevinGagnon @ Fri Feb 11, 2005 9:42 pm

Thanks for your opinion. But, "Truth will in an election?" That's a laugh.

Kevin

KevinGagnon @ Fri Feb 11, 2005 10:08 pm

Sorry didn't mean it like that. I actually sound rude there. What I meant really is, that you have questioned my hope of good government, or "trustable" politicians. Now you tell me truth will win an election. I guess I don't get what you mean.

Kevin
