"Did you inhale" should certainly be asked <img align=absmiddle src='images/smilies/rolleyes.gif' alt='Rolling Eyes'> <br />Kidding aside, when voters vote, should they not know who the person they are voting for is? rather than voting for the party. An other way to ask the question is how does the party check its reps.

Okay, had a couple of beers tonight...still, I believe my question legitimate. <br /> <br />Fact is, the party doesn't hire the reps. We do. So we're the ones who should be getting the info. <br /> <br />How often have you gotten to know the person you voted for before you voted? <br /> <br />I guess I'm just wondering whether the people performing the, in theory, most critical jobs in our country are just accepted as is, as opposed to others applying for positions involving the public trust. <br /> <br /> <img align=absmiddle src='images/smilies/razz.gif' alt='Razz'>

I can't speak on behalf of other parties, but I do know (because I've been apart of the process) that in the NDP, candidates for nomination have a rather terrible disclosure to fill-out- which is viewed with the utmost scrutiny- before they are considered acceptable candidates to potentially represent the party. And, no, they aren't always approved.
