Rugby - Six Nations Championship 2006.

You know what GB and the English team are eating tonight:
A extra-large helpin' of Humble Pie! No ice cream please!
(If anyone's interested in any other rugby, soccer, F1, etc: Setanta.com worked fine)
Hey, ice cream's good! lol
Hester @ Sat Mar 18, 2006 5:35 pm
I don't think they would get any ice cream, but you would have to ask GB what kind they would like. Probably something nasty.
Where is he anyway? Hasn't finished his pie yet?
LOL He's probably purposefully avoiding showing his face in here 'cause now he looks extra silly.

Rugby [YAWN],... isn't that one of those quaint English sports where the fans would rather fight each other than try to wage a losing battle with consciousness due to the sleep-inducing pace onfield?
GB, when you've put your body in front of a frozen piece of rubber travelling at 120 - 160 kph, then you can tell us what a tough guy you are, old chump.
Better yet, you can tell me how being hit by an opponent moving at 40 kph, said attacker using his 'body armour' to hit you where you have none, is less a real man's sport than one that involves a bunch of slow-moving boys running around in their gym togs (shorts and shirts).
I'd guess that next you'll regale us ignorant colonials with tales of derring-do on the cricket pitch.

You speak as someone who has never watched or tried to understand rugby. Your ignorance speaks volumes.
For GreatBriton, the latest world ranking are out: England continues its D-O-W-N-W-A-R-D S-P-I-R-A-L: the World Champions are now ranked #6, having fallen behind Ireland. Wales is next on their trip down. Maybe they need Martin Johnson back? His retirement from international rugby seemed to be the catalyst for self-destruction.

dimoreien dimoreien:
I can't read it, all I get is:
The Scotsman The Scotsman:
Be grateful the days of ridicule, contempt and pity are over
ALLAN MASSIE
NOW here's an odd thing. Throughout the championship the Daily Telegraph has been awarding points out of ten to every player in every match, and publishing a table of the highest averages scored. In the final table Jason White comes out top with an average of 8.4 and is named Player of the Tournament. Nothing odd about that, you may say, but what...

Not only am I familiar with it's rules, I actually played league rugger for one season. And I still think it is bloody boring to watch.
Perhaps, you might consider turning down the volume the next time you choose to reveal
your ignorance.

Oh that's a shame!! How they do it is they post all the articles to the web, but after a few days you have to pay to read them when they beome part of the archives. I'm sorry you couldn't get it, but it was basically a run down of what went on with all the teams, and what to look forward to next year.
