I've just been watching the BBC and I am absolutely disgusted with the English fans that are in Germany for the World Cup. Apparently, according to the news footage, English football fans are getting dressed up in old WWII attire and singing war songs, and running through German towns rubbing WWII and the Nazis in their faces.

The authorities there are even handing out cards that say how to act during the World Cup, and among the list is 'Do not wear swastikas or any other Nazi paraphernalia' and then something about talking about the Nazis or referring to them in any way.

For fuck's sakes, your VISITORS to this country, start acting like one!

Here's a link to a news article I've just found on the subject.

You watched that too. interesting.

Well, that's the English for ya. they tend to be stupid at football matches.

danikyvor @ Tue Jun 13, 2006 11:28 am

And then they get pissed when people come along and tell them to take their flags out of their windows or what not?? Honestly, that's disgraceful!!

Talk about ignorance....that stuff is against the law in Germany, but it doesn't look like they care eh?

jazzman @ Tue Jun 13, 2006 11:35 am

man, the English do stuff like that all the time. that's just the way they are. It's just like for the Welsh, they call them 'Sheep Shaggers', for the Irish they always say their 'Thick' and for the Scottish, they make fun of us in a number of different ways.

They call the kilts 'skirts', the little bags that scots wear in front if their kilts ( I forgot what they are called), they called them ' Purses' and they call our bagpipes (you'll probably laugh at this cause a lot of people do), 'SCREAMIN HANDBAGS'.

The English are just like that. they can't help it.

danikyvor @ Tue Jun 13, 2006 11:37 am

Sporrans, the 'purses' are sporrans lol

Screaming handbags eh...man...and they wonder why everyone in the UK hates the English. lol

Well, I actually don't know if ALL the English say that, but i had an English friend that i went to school a while back that called them that. course when England got hammered in the last World Cup, everyone in the class used to pure rub it in his face.

The interesting part was seeing how well he kept his cool.

danikyvor @ Tue Jun 13, 2006 11:44 am

danikyvor @ Tue Jun 13, 2006 11:53 am

I wouldn't know, I don't go to Glasgow a lot lol. I've lived here three years now and I think I've been to Glasgow a grand total of 5 times.

jazzman @ Tue Jun 13, 2006 11:56 am

Aye that term does get used a lot here. usually neds use that term.

You should go to Glasgow more often dimoreien, it's actually not bad. You should definately go to the Braehead shopping centre. man that place has tones of stuff.

danikyvor @ Tue Jun 13, 2006 12:10 pm

I've been to IKEA at Braehead, but when we shop in Glasgow, we're normally at the Buchanan Galleries.

But we spend all our time in Edinburgh or Stirling. lol

So there's 70,000 English running around Germany then dressed as Nazis? or could it be that there's just a few idiots (some of whom have been arrested and charged)
