Canada may have sucked in the olympics, but look at them in there exhbition games for the World Cup! We've beaten the US already. I think it is looking pretty good for us!

I stopped by the Bell Center and caught some of the Canadian practice.
Martin St. Louise is flying you have to be down at ice level to feel the speed.
Iginla and Thornton shots are frightening Win or lose they have the team to get the job done

I don't know what I saw, but I thought I saw a team Canada of some sort gathering 'round ceter ice holding gold medals with a silver cup posing for pictures. I know that wasn't last Olympics. The announcer didn't say much. Plus it was late and I was half tired. Anyone know what I saw?

I didn’t see that but I do know that there is a new World Cup trophy this year.
I wonder if it had something to do with that?

I think Finland and Sweden are going to be the toughest teams for Canada. Finland looked pretty good today, mind you the Czechs looked like crap so hard to say just how good Finland was or if the czechs sucked that bad.

I think Canada has a good team and should be damn tough to beat.

Maybe what I saw was a foreshadowing of whats going to happen. That'd be cool. One thing I remember is the announcer saying when the team layed down to pose for a shot was "Edmonton was the first team to pose like this, now everyone does it" So if that is said when Canada is posing with the victory, the whole thing already happened and there was a big conspiracy-coverup. 8O

I will be heading out for the Bell Center in another two hours.
I will be standing at the door just to the right of the visitor’s bench.
I can’t wait I got my son a ticket for the second Canadians game.

GO CANADA GO!

RALPH, I might see you...not at the game, but on TV. I set my new TVi card to record the game onto my comp. Its gonna be a big file, 3 hours long! Oh well, I still have 60 gigs free space.

Canada wins. They have a great mixture of youth and experience and probably still the best goalie in the world in Marty Brodeur. It will start with a beating tonight on the yanks.
Go Canada Go.

Wasn't a bad game tonight. Canada kinda let the US back in, but the end result was good. I do have to ask though, whats with the "Yellow" Canadian uniforms? I heard them say that some Winnipeg team represented Canada an the Olympics back in 1927 or something and this was their uniform. Now, since our red and white colours didn't come to be till many years later I guess "Yellow" could be used, but I say DON'T!!!!! That was the worst uniform I've ever seen team Canada wear. I think we should just stick to the good old Red and White.

$1:
A team made up of second-generation Icelandic immigrants. Men who overcame econnomic hardship and discrimination. Who grew up skating together because no other teams would play with them. The Winnipeg Falcons, the team that was forced to form its own league to compete, would eventually claim the Allan Cup. And represent a nation that didn't know they existed. Team Canada, which would defeat the Czechs, Americans, and Swedes would return home to a hero's welcome. Olympic hockey's first champions. This jersey will be introduced during the 2004 World Cup of Hockey.

Thx for the info^^^ I thought that was the colours of the first team to win gold. Still damn ugly though.

The crowd was crazy.
Very loud, plenty of Yanks showed up and they of course had their opinion of what was going to happen.

The whole crowd sang Oh Canada at the top of their lungs, that doesn’t happen too many times here, but last night it did and it set the tone for the whole game.

Canada needs to sharpen up a bit down low but they looked great.
USA Really wanted that game but came up short.

I agree! GO BRODEUR!!! I had a great time watching Canada beat the crap out of the Slovakians...that was awesome! I wish that was how the score looked in the Canada vs US game... Canada should've made sure they run them down into the ice!!! lol
