A Ricer’s Guide to Driving

DrCaleb DrCaleb:
you are not trained as a race driver - and neither is anyone else on the road.
Ha says you. I am trained actualy thanks, not nascar trained but still
Ha, no you aren't. What class? What licencing body?
I will have my WCMA Road Racing license this spring.
No one with a racing license would claim fast driving on the street is 'safe'.
acidcomplex acidcomplex:
ha yeah cause people who drive fast cant possibly drive safe to. Damn all those race care drivers and there deadly ways eh?
Gotta' agree with you. So many variables come into play - if speed was truly the only one, the highways should be bloodbaths, but more accidents occur on city streets and often speed isn't the only factor (not paying attention, crappy driver, substandard brakes, tires, car, other distractions). In fact, read Jim Kenzie's great articles in the Toronto Star where he correctly outlines the notion that speed limits on 400 highways should be
increased.
ha ARCA course smart ass, and ill tell you right now if your going there watch out for the left turn near the staging area its a bitch so treat it with respect
What else you got?. Street racing is not safe, driving fast can easly be safe. I do it on the highway alllll the time.

What if?
A child walks out in front of the car your tailgateing?
nothing, i stop as does the guy in front me? What happenes if it rains in china on a wednesday? Any other stupid situations? lol
The ability to condem someone who has more skill then you shows your are afraid of what you cant understand (the fact that i and many other do have they skills, you just cant understand that)
If you are tailgating and the guy in front of you slams on his breaks, you think you are going to be able to stop in time? What do you think you are a jedi? It's people like you who give young males a bad name while driving.
I drive fairly fast, but almost never more than 20 over the speed limit, and if I do it's because it's the dead of night with no one on the road in a well lit area.
And I do agree that speed doesn't necessarily mean unsafe driving. But by what you said, you still drive like a fuck head.

Again your assuming were going 100km. If to use the example previous if a kid walked out "in front of him" then im obviously in a residential area right?. The speed limit is 50 right? so the guy in front is going that or prob 30 - 40 cause hes a "safe" driver. If i am tailgating someone at say 2 feet. Well simple (ok not simple) math will tell you that i can theortically stop. Also rear ending someone at 30-40 will not kill them, but again i wouldnt be going 40 as i would have slammed on the breaks at least somewhat therefore instantly reducing my speed somewhat.

I do actually wish i was yes and whats with the "young" male drivers? Im close to thirty is that still young? wooohoo

So your a hypocrite then? A deer come out, game over. Thanks for playing

Lol i am more then sure some people look at my driving as fucked cause they cant possibly comprehend that i can process much more at a single time then there little brains can. I do drive like a fuckhead sometimes, no arguing there. But fuckhead is an opinion and does not mean not safe.

It's called What If? and has been used by defensive drivers with over a million miles accident free for a long time.
No amount of training is as good as experience.
Your attitude is held by lots of folks who get scraped off the pavement.
You also failed the virtual test, you cant react fast enough to stop if your tailgating.Thank god for trailer lights where I can put the fear of Jesus into tailgaters.

What if...the car in front of you loses a tire?
what if...the guy at the 4 way stop doesnt?
Your a bloody accident waiting to happen acid, hope you dont hurt any innocents.

So what, you race Canoes?
Driving fast cannot be 'safe'. Roads are designed for a specific rate of speed. The more you exceed it, the more unsafe they become. You reduce your reaction time to potential hazards.
And as your answers indicated, you make everyone else around you unsafe by them not being able to predict your actions.
I am your worst nightmare on the road. I am a rolling speed bump. I do the speed
limit, conditions permitting I signal my intentions well ahead of time, and maintain a safe distance to the car in front of me. I have no reservations about using the left lane for passing only, and if I'm passing a guy doing 105 in a 110 zone and I see nothing but your roof in my rear view, I have no problem with that. Feel free to tailgate me. My Class 2 hitch might get some paint on it, but your car will be totalled. I outweigh you 2.5:1. You cannot intimidate me.

The insurance companies usually have these types of drivers parked in a few years.

going on 11 years now, guess i get lucky
No such thing as luck,I probably got more miles in reverse then you will ever have forward. Clean abstract and no accidents after I got the attitude likr you have right now out of my system, that happens when you see best friends get killed because some asshole thought he was Dale Earnhardt.

i had that happen once, guy lost a tire right in front of me... at 150km/h
happy no one in the right lane, fun trying to brake and swerve and accelerate
all the same time.

Best safety meeting we ever had, they asked a trucker with millions of accident free miles how he did it,it's what if? Totally defensive driving,we had 300 tonne rock trucks the size of houses ripping around at 45 mph so it was easy to pick out who would be accident free and who was high risk in a short time.
What if your brakes fail?
What if someone cruises into your lane,it takes many years but it becomes second hand after a while as you get older and your reactions get faster.

wouldn't really matter how fast i was going in these instances would it

An AMA defensive driver once told me,if you do hit the trailer lights and the dick rear ends you just say you thought you saw a kid crossing the road.

If you had enough experience you would have some time to take evasive action and maybe avoid a crash.
