Just made the last payment on my '09 Lariat F-150. Deciding what to build/buy next.

   

Now is the time of year to go shopping. Good deals if you like what's left on the lot.

The only two FX4 Crew cabs these guys had came with 6.5' boxes. Too long a truck for the commuters that just want a truck to tow their boat/fifth wheel twice a year.

Perfect for me!

That's what and why I got mine. 6' box, super crew cab, towing package. Just to tow race cars around 5 or 6 weekends a year.

   

Well then the one that's left in Penticton is red.
Fully loaded, even has the sunroof (all that mine is missing).

But that's the 5.5 box dude. Unless they had different sizes in '09.

Hmm. I've always thought the bed was 6.5'. Pretty sure there was a 5.5' and 6.5' box offered in '09 for the SuperCrew cab. When I lay the tailgate down, the bed is exactly one 4' x 8' sheet of plywood to the back of the tailgate (which was another selling point for me). And I don't think the tailgate is 2.5' high.

Now I'll have to measure it!

   

The 6.5 when you look at it from the side, appears to have the back axle in the middle of the box.
On the 5.5, the back axle looks closer to the cab.
At least on the new ones.

Sadly, the red one will be sold soon, but for now I will enjoy having 2.
