in many ways, i would rather have an electric car instead of my favorite sports car.

Sounds like the Tesla sportscar would be the perfect fit for you....

I think this type of technology is much superior to the Prius type hybrid... That's only my opinion and time will tell if I'm right or wrong... :D :D :D

This look like it's gonna be a great new magazine for anyone interested in traditional hot rods or rat rods...

Issue #1 is already on the newstands and I'll probably pickup along with Rod & Culture....

I've always liked the styling of the early Datsun Zee cars but thought they were under powered...

This bloke solved that issue....

I remember years ago a small garage on Adelaide Ave. in Fairview put a v8 in a wee Brit Anglia which until this occurred could maybe do 50 downhill.

Disgusting. I had a z car, and I sure wouldn't want all that Detroit iron sitting in front, messing with the handling. Now a nice Nissan aluminum V6 up there, that's a different matter, probably lighter than the iron block 2.4 straight 6.

Neat and clean.

Sure makes it stand out. Definately a bunch of work in that.

If you read the article the Ford V8 is actually lighter then the Datsun in-line 6....
Quoting the article....

$1:
What could be better than a small block Ford motor that is lighter than the stock Z motor, can be mounted further back for better weight distribution, has better exhaust sound and torque than the stock motor, and over twice the horsepower? Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be much documented about Ford conversions, so I was charting some territory without much helpful folklore on the web.

That is sharp. Would have been a huge project!

Paint it ferrari red and you'd think a 60's era itallian sports car just blew your doors off.

stemmer @ Thu Feb 25, 2010 1:08 pm

Isn't there kits to make a Datsun 240/260Z into a 1960's Ferrari Daytona look alike?

andyt @ Thu Feb 25, 2010 1:14 pm

The guy says the Ford 5L V8 is lighter than the 2.4L six, but I have trouble believing that.
