Top Gear . . . America?

BTW if your a big petrol head then Dubai is the place to be. Ferraris, lambos, G55's, Maserati's, Astons, Phantoms, Bentley etc etc are really common and I mean really really common.
There was one guy who got semi-famous here for running his Giardo in the winter - even at 30 below. To it's credit, it survived. As for the rest - they wouldn't.
Alberta accounts for 40% of Pickup sales in Canada for a reason. Nothing else gets the job done. And the job needs to get done.
Hmmm.....true. Save for the G55. Thats a good machine.
No substitute for the original TopGear. Clarkson, Hammond, May, and The Stig are icons. I love TopGear to pieces, and think it should be left by itself.

I liked the old top gear when they actually just tested cars and took the piss out of them if they were shite.
The recent top gear is alright for a giggle but I prefer info and reviews over Benny-Hill type comedy.

At least the UK Top Gear has one thing that the American one won't and seems to be lost on some on this forum and that's a bit of banter/piss taking!
(I know there are some nice American cars out there, but don't take everything so seriously!)-not directed at you Eyebrock.
I agree Newf. Something that is lost on many in NA. The Newfies have that stuff in spades though!

One of the first things I learned when I moved here, especially after taking the Queens Shilling! If you can't laugh at yourself then you're pretty much fecked!
Yep, I'm sure they still say it. "If you can't take a joke you shouldn't have joined up!"
I haven't seen it, I guess I should before I comment on it.
Trouble is with most UK transplants, you're disappointed because the knock off never lives up to the original.

And leave it to the Yanks to put in Nascar dudes !!!
Does Canada also have a big following of watching cars go round in circles for hours ?
(Tanner Foust is a road racer)
Yes, We have the Canadian Tire NASCAR series. But most Canadians have no idea it exists. And the longest races are about 90 minutes. But, it's good racing!
Very good. Mind, it's great that Montreal has a Nationwide Series road race. I'd like to see that one live. Patrick Carpentier did pretty good in it last year.

I'm sorry, my F150 is nicknamed "The Pig" for good reason.
What has Britain made that compares with a Camaro or Firebird? Nothing thank God!
Even those quirky old Austins, Sunbeams and Hillmans were fun to drive.
I've owned over 60 vehicles and even my SaturnVue Redline lacks any road feel whatsoever. Cozy, comfortable, reliable, I admit.
When I want fun to drive, I hop in the Mitsubishi minitruck and feel like I'm driving.
In Big 3 Amerika, car drives YOU

He did! I was on turn 14 for Indy this year, so I had a very good view of all races.

The NASCAR races were great. Some of the cars were coming off 13 and nearly hitting the tire barrier, a few feet from me. One missed I think by one coat of paint. That'll wake you up in the morning!
Second best seat in the house, when you are getting smacked in the back of the head with hot tire rubber.

I was at Edmonton Indy in 09 and toured around that pits. It was great!
Maybe I should post some pics. Met Freddie Munz who was then driving in the Atlantic Series.

I'm interested to see how it is as well. The trick will be recreating the rapport and chemistry Clarkson, Hammond, and May have.
Hopefully they can pull it off. It'd be nice because it could be another addition to my puny watch list.
