Playing online is a totally different thing. Interactive and competitive to say the least. There's also allot more mods for the game and there are tons of servers that have different maps and features......it's worth hard drive space.

LOTS of mods is an understatement.

I've done a few BF2 mods of my own that build on established maps.

Highlights would be: a US destroyer for the Wake Island map featuring anti-aircraft missiles and gatling gun mid ships and two (modified tank) turrets fore and aft with four mounted machine guns. It brings a lot of firepower to bear on the poor Chinese. It can be sunk by bombs, missiles, and tanks or I also put a weak spot in it: you can board it in special forces kit, go down into the hold and put just one C4 on a very obvious red spot and then blow it up. It then respawns south of the island where the Chinese can easily get to it. It makes for a lot of fun.

I modded the US anti-tank weapon to also work as a radar seeking anti-air missile and that about ruined it for the hard core jet jockeys since they couldn't pwn on everyone as they're used to.

I modded the mosque in Mashtuur City so it can be demolished just for giggles. :wink:

The best mod IMHO is the Racetrack R=UP

I'm having trouble with BF2 I have a slow verifying client data and when I finaly can join the game map I get booted and told the reason is Inadequate o/s privileges.

Anyone have any idea what I should do?

Verify the game is up to date with the latest patch.

The command string should look like:

F:\BF2\BF2.exe (where your exe is) start /high +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024 +highPriority +restart

Check to see if punkbuster is running the latest client.
