Hey guys.

Im realy into gaming and i know that there are quite a few people on ehere that are aswell. So i was thinking of maybe a majority of people interested come a CKA Lan party. I run lan parties at www.playas.ca which is alot of fun. I mean like brent and brandon are great.

Anyways, im just curious to see who is all interested. Vote in the poll. Depending on that decides the next steps.

What type of games u talkin here? I assume FPS..

   

Yea maybe have a few different games going on at once. Some counter-strike, some bf2. I can pull all the sponsers over from playas to sponser us, so hardware (switches ect..) are no problem.

   

I definitely love BF2, and as of in two days, hardware won't be a prob for me anyways...

As for sponsors, not an issue.. i work and co-own a web template sales team and webhosting provider.. but like i said, gaming isn't my real specialty

   

thats great because i help and 'co-own' a colocation center (ironcolo.com) and im starting a webhosting company in about a month..

Maybe we could build a website for the CKA LAN.. i can code php, perl, mysql and learning oracle.

well depending on how much interest i get in this lan party, im sure we can multiple games.

I would love to do this, problem is.. "CANADA IS REALLY BIG"

But such is Canada, there are lots of members in Ontario, an Ontario lan might be possible for those members.

I have some friends in high places. Aslong as we did a a vpn setup all locations would be able to play.

We could easily do a bc, alberta, ontario, quebec lan. We could even divide them up into provincial teams, that would connect to like a vpn host, (likely my colo comp could do somerthing along tier-3 or oc3 which would give us about 50-100 ping from bc to onario

   

I live in Ontario!.. northern right now, but going back to Toronto in September for school.. UoT all the way!!

   

The fact that you host is AMAZING, I am not a coder personally, but i do help admin, (I am a graphics artist) - I co-own, and i know how hard ti is to find Coders.. HOw good of a coder are you? that is the question..lol

Maybe i should add u to msn.. i will show u some of our sites, u can show me ur potential, u can make a pretty penny.. Just finished a $200 site today, and we sell sites up to $2000 .. and u make a cut based on ur effort.. ie lots work = llost $$$

AS for the webhosting, it is an easy quick buck.. however it became an annoyance when our servers would go down and all of our clients woudl get pissy.. So, now we just do webtemplate.. It is a GREAT part time job while going to university, as far as i am concerned...

   

I don't have BF2 :/ or BF1942, or any of the games you lsited except CSS...

   

The only one i have is BF2.. i had bf1942, but it got old fast, cuz COD replaced it for me.. but BF2 is GODLY, greatest so far, and based on the trash screenshots of the upcoming COD2, i am sure it won't be replaced in my mind (maybe withe the ecxeption of AOE3)...

I can't platy ANYTHING for a couple days till i get my new comp anyways..

some of you might know I also do web hosting to help pay for the rack servers i bought for this site. I also do web design, but hanv't had the time recently becasue of my work. But since i quit my job last month i have moe time now.

As for a interprovince lan, it all depends if there is the interest to get enough people out. Its definatly a project worth trying
