I use my Xbox and Gamespy with the Xbox Game Tunnel or Xbox connect to play online because I still have a problem with giving Microsoft money to play on Xbox Live. That and I can play Halo over Gamespy against other people where as XBLive has got jack for Halo support...

I had an Xbox but sold it to upgrade my PC. PC games are better and the grahpics are WAY better, i like the mouse/keyboard a lot more then i like a game controler.

My gaming machine (not as nice as yours  )

P4 2.4Ghz (400MHz FSB, 512k cache)
Raidmax 868 scorpio w/420w PS
Aopen AX45-V motherboard
Crucial PC2100 1024mb ddr ram
ATI Radeon 9600XT
80GB maxtor 7200RPM HD
Logitech MX due
JBL creature 2.1
ViewSonic 19" E90FB CRT

holy crap... the money you spent on your new rig just bought me a new XC mountain bike... I wouldn't say PC games are better than console games... they tailor to a different crowd. I don't have to upgrade my Xbox every 4 monthes with a new video card so I can play the latest game that PC developers threw lazy code into so you have to buy a new video card just to play a pc game. I have way more resepct for console developers because they have to squeeze out the leanest code to still within specs of a console to make a better game, if developers get lazy on a console game it really shows in the final product. On the other hand with PC developers if they get lazy they just up the system requirements for the game and all is good... provided you have the fastest processor with the fast twin X corsair 1gb stick of ram or FSB or whatever...anyways... I'm just speaking up for us poor people out here that still run Athlon 800 Classics on 512megs of pc133 DDR  . Basically for me there are more titles that I find appealing for my heXbox than on PC... mostly because my PC couldn't run Jack if Jill was buck naked a with boob job and her twin sister... I keep my Xbox around because I have the HD kit and CRT projector that gets me 1080i output to a 120inch screen at 1800+ luminence... oh and the whole Dolby Digital 5.1 thing ain't bad...

Oh I totally understand what your saying. Why pay $2000 for a top of the line machine just to play games with when you can get an Xbox for $200. Now PC didnÂ’t cost close to $2000 though. But It's for more then just games, I use my pc for video editing, picture editing, music, games, work, everything. I wouldnÂ’t be able to live without it. So spending that much for a top machine is worth it for me, because I can also play top of the line games.

Now, i do agree that in the last few years the PC gaming industry has been lacking. But in the last year huge leaps have been made in the industry and its come a long way. Game like Starwars: Knights of the old Republic, Call Of Duty, Starwars Galaxies, War Craft, Battlefield Vietnam and with Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 coming out the sky id the limit for PC gaming.

True, true. But a lot of the titles you mentioned are also going to be on consoles as well... and yeah I know what you mean by using your computer for more than one purpose. I work in the tv and film industry so my computer IS my online video edit suite. Thankfully I have a dedicated hardware card for just video editing so I don't have to upgrade every 6 monthes to keep up. I think the advantage for me with playing console games on the inter is that it's a lot harder for players to cheat. Knowing that everyone else out there I play against has the exact same system as me also doesn't give me the excuse of "Oh he has a better framerate than me and more ram that's why he fragged me some many times." At least know I know when I get a continuious ass kicking online it's because I suck and not because the other guy is hacking a game or has a blazing hot system...

Well yes its not fair to play agiants somone with a AMD 1.3 and an intagrated video card with 256mgs of ram on a 56k if your using a AMD 64 with 1 gig or ram and an Radenn 9800 on a t1 line. And i know pc gaming is FULL of cheaters. Pc gaming is not for everyone, all my friends have xboxs, none of them use the PC's to game. just a matter of opinion i guess.
