Just read some interesting articles about the fight between Microsft and its allies and Sony & its allies. On 2 fronts, the Console front, Xbox vs Playstation, and the HD Movie Format front. HD-DVD & Blue-Ray.

On both fronts the Microsoft seems to be winning, Xbox & HD-DVD

Sony has not made a durable product in ten years, their customer support is non-existent and they are the kings of the dead formats (Elcaset, Beta, UMD, etc.). I cannot imagine how anyone would have faith in a company that foisted the rootkit fiasco on the unsuspecting public last year.

Microsoft is much better at supporting open standards, and uses intustry formats.

I'm not a microsoft fan but considering the choices between the two I would consider myself a huge microsoft fan ...Sony does not stand behind there product . Just check out there warrantys and guarantees .

In my opinion it would be like comparing KLIPSCH to SANYO

I prefer the ps3 over Xbox based purely on the games.

As for the formats, the UMD is still used for the PSP. And Blue ray is way better then DVD

CapeApe @ Thu Dec 07, 2006 6:25 pm

I have to agree on the warranty issue I have both XBox and Playstation.

Microsoft has been first rate I cannot say the same for Sony setback after setback even when I had just recieved a new power supply that also faltered.
Nothing but headaches from Sony.

games? the 360 has way more games out, and as the articles said, more and more developers are jumping ship, or no longer making there games PS exclusives.

And UMD is shit and really expensive.

I wasn't comparing Blue Ray to DVD. blue ray vs HD-DVD. Both Hi Definition 2nd generation video disc formats fighting it out to become the standard.

I liked it. Was small, and could hold a decent amount of shit.

Hmm I'm still split between a 360 and PS3 but right now I'm leaning towards 360.

An employee brought a Wii last friday at the job and... WOW.
Everybody wants to have one ! It really is a revolution in game play.

I've never bought a console (I received the NES and SNES as christmas gifts when young ;) ), but I think I'll buy the Wii when they get some others to sell in stores.

Scape @ Sun Dec 10, 2006 4:48 pm

Parlor games on the Wii should be a hoot.

Xbox 360 VS. PS3: Graphics Comparison
You'd think that the PS3 versions would be exactly the same or slightly better than the Xbox 360 versions, since many of these games appeared on the 360 months ago, but it seems like developers didn't use the extra time to polish up the graphics for the PS3. We found that the 360 actually had better graphics in the majority of the games compared.

stratos @ Tue Dec 12, 2006 3:25 am

to me the psp3 is just way to expensive for realy not doing anything more then what the Xbox360 does. As stated earlier xbox360 has more games then psp3.

jazzman @ Tue Dec 12, 2006 3:33 am

Aww dam. When the Xbox, the Playstation 2 and the Nintendo Gamecube came out, Nintendo were sitting in third place with a disaster in their hands. Now we have the Xbox 360, the Playstation 3 and the Nintendo Wii, looks like Sony's definately gonna take third place with a disaster in their hands, and of course Microsoft take their rightful place at the top. Number 1.

After checking out the Playstation 3 and the Nintendo Wii, I have to say, sorry Sony, but looks like i'm going for the Wii this time. You better do what Nintendo did and start working on a new one to make up for this dissapointing failure. :(

stratos @ Tue Dec 12, 2006 3:41 am

Wii looks like its nothing but sports type games from the commercials i've seen. Any thing else they are putting out for it?
