My isp has dropped binary newsgroups... I can understand some people use binary newsgroups to trade warez, music, tv and movies...

However I was posting car photos i shot with my dslr to groups like

alt.binaries.pictures.autos

No forewarning e-mail was sent to the customers. I called my isp (Eastlink) and they informed me it was the decision of TELUS whom Eastlink use to provide access to usenet..

Anyone else experience this problem...???

To say the least, I am not impressed... Looks like I'll have to cahnge isps or sign up for a binary news service....any recommendations?

Find your local TV troubleshooter and complain? I don't know. That definitely seems like an overreaction on the part of Telus.

Go to Anonymizer or a similar proxy to get around this idiotic restriction or simply get a better ISP.
