We've been considering Vonage but I'm a little leary after reading some of the customer comments....like lots of hidden fees and bad service.
I was hunting around online and found a service called Acanac (www.acanac.ca) and one called Just VOIP (www.justvoip.ca).
Anybody had any experience with any of those companies?
also, I've been checking out SKYPE. Any users of that around? It appears you pay a flat $15.00 yearly fee and then buy credits to make calls via your computer?
Just curious if anybody has any opinions or personal experience with any of these services.
I use Babytel (http://www.babytel.ca/) and it's great. I pay 20$ (all included) per month and I can phone everywhere in north america.
Look at the prices and compare.
I use TeamSpeak.....
The only real problem with VOIP, is that everyone, would have to use it. When calling none VOIP users, you can experience alot of technical problems.
well, i don't think TeamSpeak will work for us if users have to be online to communicate. We want more of a phone system so that we can call regular and cell phones....
news said the voip technology is not safe, becouse the voice/data are transfered on internet, and hacker can spy and register... and is not a safe thing for important the society...
I use Vonage. I have used them for the last 3 years.
Still use my U.S. service in Canada. Tried the Canadian service, it sucks. Can't access 800 numbers in the U.S. and a bunch of other limitations.
The U.S. Service allows for a 800 number for friends and family to call. 24.95/mo unlimited calling in the US/Canada.
well, we went with babytel to try it out.....no yearly contract just month to month so if we don't like it we can cancel. the vonage prices are supposed to go up if you sign up after jan 31st. i like their options but with all the extra costs, it's not worth being stuck with it for a year if you don't like it.
I'm not convinced of babytel. I checked out their site and I'm wondering how much small print they are leaving out. Plus you have to buy the device, and the 911 seems iffy and unreliable. Let me know how it works out for you though usababe, I'm curious and I still haven't made up my mind yet...
well, you can rent the babybox for $5.00 a month so that is another reason i went with them.....i'll keep you posted. it's the same exact program offered by ca.inter.net ..... we should get our equipment next week.
I use a telephone. A plain old rotary telephone with telus.
