Hi all:
SP2 is out! The biggest improvement I have seen is the XP firewall now displays an alert if an application is trying to communicate through the Internet. Also, under the control panel, there is a new addition, Security Centre. This will tell you if your antivirus is running, updates are set to automatic and you can set up exception rules for your XP firewall.
If, after running the windows update you do not see the SP2 in the list, it means that something on your system is not compatible with SP2; I do not suggest installing it until you figure out what isn't compatible with it.
HAVE FUN!
they fixed the network problems, too sweet, great upgrade IMHO
Hey Madman...
Yeah, it is sweet. Pop up blocker, and alerts from the XP firewall. I installed this past Friday evening, and haven't had any problems as of yet, but I did notice my system information was pointing to the Help and Support. I'm not sure if it was the SP2 upgrade, or something else. All it was was that the shortcut had changed. All I had to do was add the '/' and 'showcategories' for it to work. The thing is, the damn msinfo32 is displayed in the help and support window still. Something funky went on, but as long as I get the system information displayed, it doesn't matter what window it comes up in.
