It's Twitter. Were people expecting fairness?
A part of me occasionally feels like I failed in my responsibility to be aware of different issues and perspectives in Canada when I quit Twitter a couple of years ago.
Then I remember the panic attacks and mental breakdowns it was causing me, to the point where coworkers noticed I was looking visibly unwell.
That's when I stop feeling guilty.
I bailed on Twitter. All the fucking screaming and craziness was too much. I use FB for family pix and updates and jokes; I don't post anything remotely political. I know some people are saying to me that I should show solidarity with Indigenous people by posting messages of support on FB, but I'm just not going to.
I use Twitter for mainly sports updates, and to stay in touch with my friends/fellow writers in the writing community. Twitter has been a shit show for some time now, with all the psychos/snowflakes/activists/nutbars/etc. making scenes on a daily basis.
I've seriously considered dumping it as of late, but am still thinking it over.

I use it to watch breaking headlines mostly. It's better than CNN in that respect for BIG news and otherwise I use it to see the trends. I don't actually use is as communications unless I am sending a note to an editor.
Or for sending a death threat to a celebrity.
I have never wrapped my head around that. Since the inception of the internet that has been a thing. Anonymity has its downsides.
