I live here and am a member of the aboriginal community.

I respect my Chief "Davis"but not the tacticts used.

I also believe that Randy Cota should be fired.

Welcome aboard RangerDog! :D

I think a moratorium would be a good thing and I can't think it will make or break some mining company.

Uranium mining=jobs=work
No wonder they'd be against it.

Riddle me this, if everything was provided to you by our government, would you work? The answer, despite your assumed protestations to the contrary, would be "No". It's not that they're Indians, it's that they're human. People are inherently self-serving (survival remember) and lazy. It just so happens that all our "wards of the state" happen to be an easily identifiable minority group. Yay!

They shot down a proposed uranium mine near Baker lake 20 years ago,its in the process of opening up soon for the first time now. There's also 17 exploration camps in the area, one has permits now to start mining and 3 others will soon have permits to mine also.

They want to get over 51% locals hired but that will never happen. It's not that their lazy, just a different outlook on life.

Bloody whitey troublemakers!

$1:
Non-native residents in the area have also voiced their opposition to the project, some with makeshift signs along Highway 509 not far from the nearby town of Sharbot Lake, saying "No uranium mine" and "Radioactive death." It was a non-native couple living near the site who actually brought the matter to the Algonquin communities, said Sherman.
