Still insist on defending the Commies, eh?

Given the facts of Chines culture the One Child policy had predictable effects. Therefore, the gender selection that goes in on China is not a result of culture, but of policy. Prior to the policy no one was out killing their daughters.

Still insist on vilifying people eh

Cultural preference is why the Chinese people value boys over girls. A one child policy is exactly the crap people like you demanded lest you claim they were trying to out breed everybody else.

And shouldn't nations take cultural preferences into consideration before passing laws?

Should they also not take into consideration economical and social factors as well

Funny, I thought WWII was actually lopsided to female casualties because of mass-bombing raids?

But WW1 Killed 16 Million Europeans, mostly men.

But compared to some Chinese "Rebellions" and uprisings, these numbers are child's play.

Hell hath no fury like Chinese peasantry scorned.

Well Bart yours is and how's that going for you?

I'd have to say the USA is working out pretty well. Definitely not perfect, but better than most places.

Just had to come back and reply and in jest. I read this and happened to glance out the window in time to see two young ladies walking by. One was very cute the other not so much. Now I'm still reflecting on what you had posted and the thought came to mind. Your soo right standing next to Mexico! XD [B-o]

Indeed. Similarily, if I had to choose between Greenland and Canada, Canada would look great in comparison

Kindly don't consider (the Chinese Communists) so barbaric they'd throw millions of lives away just to thin out the herd. Its despicable and you know it.

It is despicable. And, sadly, it's not without precedent.

Some 100 million of their people were starved to death as part of Mao's 'Great Leap Forward' and, even as recently as 2009 there's been politically induced famines that have killed off reportedly as many as 30 million people.

That they'd start a war as a handy way of disposing of an excess of young men is mild compared to what your buddies over there have already 'accomplished'.

Yes they should. A rich family wouldn't need a son to help make money, but the vast majority of Chinese aren't the elites on the coast and live in abject poverty working on communal farms and in coal mines. If a family has a daughter, she won't make as much money and the family will starve. So, they kill of the daughter and have a son.

I think you should research the policy a little more because despite its name there are plenty of exceptions to the rule so to speak.

More complicated than that, even. A son is culturally obligated to care for his parents in their old age and a daughter is obligated to help her husband's parents. In a country where social services, even under a Communist worker's paradise, are sketchy, having a daughter as one's sole child is tantamount to killing yourself off as soon as you hit old age.

Shep or Green Tiger should feel free to weigh in on this topic.

Seems to me the people who consistently propose violence and death as a solution to every problem and would have no problem getting behind such stuff look suspiciously like you. 8O

China isn't going to start a war to thin the herd. They are not a military threat. They want to live in peace. Demonizing them is the despicable act.

And I'm sure people in the coal mines have the time to become party members, then call in the favors necessary to get an exception.

So why conquer Tibet?

Seems to me the people who utterly deny the avarice and inhumanity of the left and who get behind every leftwing agenda no matter how damning it is to individual people look suspiciously like you.

Maybe not. But if they do, it'll be well planned.

Be sure to tell that to Taiwan, I'm sure they'll be happy to know this.

Perhaps they consider it part and parcel to their country.

How did the US acquire just about all of its land? Conquering? Stealing?

Considering your country is currently at war in 2 countries and bombing a further 2 countries I'd say you have no standing to comment on the peacefulness of another country. The US is literally more involved in unjustified military operations then any other country in the world. 8O

Sure it will. Like the US plans to attack its own citizens and blame it on Cuba as a pretext to invade.

Are they bombing them like you guys are bombing Lybia in support of Al Queada and then bombing Syria in defiance of them?

BartSimpson BartSimpson:

No, actually it is the human thing. learning to live alongside others.
