Canadian
So we've got the money for enormous raises for MLAs, but not for our top medical professionals? For shame.
Doesn't look good in light of the recent raises the politicans gave themselves.

Come on now guys. We all know this isn't the fault of the PCs, this is the opposition's fault. They should have spoken up and said something earlier. Besides, these four only look after the health of a couple million people and a budget of about $10 billion. Our glorious leaders for life run an entire province with a budget of $36 billion!

But remember, Alberta's privare healthcare is a good thing...
Does Canada have any sort of provision which prevents pay raises from going into effect until the next term?

Alberta is 3 cities so I think $36 billion is far enough to run 3 cities

Yes but we need to really work on our private health care to bring it up to the standards and availability of Ontario and Quebec . Turn off the CBC and see who really leads the country in private health care.

Apparently not. Good idea on the surface, but that still wouldn't do anything here as it'll be the same bums next time anyway.

Yeah, the US got that with Amendment 27, which finally got ratified after 200+ years. The same problem with career politicians down here too though.

That would be 16 Chartered cities, for the geographically impaired.

I'm curious as to what he thinks the third one is, actually.
Upon further reflection, though, they may be right. Perhaps the price of these people's integrities was too high wheras cabinet's integrity was more affordable.

I'm guessing Edmonton, Calgary, Fort Mac.
Everyone always forgets poor Red Deer.
I'm guessing these Doctors weren't offered an additional $54k a year ether.
