So they ban it, people will still do it. Though, it's funny, twas not so long ago the "cell phone" did not exist. This is a whole new problem. Makes me feel old when I realize how much of my life was spent with some people actually not being able to reach me when not at home or work.

Personally, I get a kick out of taking note of how many drivers are on their cells as they drive by me while I'm waiting for my bus to or from work. It's unreal, sometimes 3-4 cars in a row will be driven by someone driving with one hand with their other holding up their cell, sometimes even obviously texting. Scary. As a pedestrian in my neighborhood I look both ways and take note of what the driver is doing! :D

Hey, I was honest with you. I occassionally drink a beer while driving. If I get caught, I'll lose my beer and get a ticket. I know the penalty and if I get caught, I'll suck it up and pay the fine. But I don't drive impaired, which is a criminal offense. Now, if you disagree with my behaviour, fine, disagree away. But that's the law. You don't get to call me a criminal and throw me in jail for committing a minor traffic violation, which is how the law views drinking and driving. The law says I'm allowed to have up to 0.079 mg of alcohol/ml of blood in my system. I obey that law, so get off my case.

Don't really care whether you think you're honest or not. The fact that you seem to be one of those lowerdeck lawyers that proudly states they can go to 0.079 because they are legally allowed to do it speaks volumes.

Fine, but stop bitching at me. If you think the legal limit for alcohol should be 0, then petitition the shit out of your MP to change the law. If you're successful, I'll follow the new law. Until then, shut the fuck up.

I've always had an eye on my kids through my mirrors... Without enhancements...

These are lined up so the driver can look into the rear view mirror of the car, to the baby mirror and then to the baby.. they're for rear facing car seats.

WTF? Is the baby going to GO somewhere strapped in that thing?

A wormhole formed and the baby was just gone!
Lucky I had it, a tarantula crawled out from the bananas in the hatchback and was ON the baby!
I was checking the baby, it was sleeping soundly and didn't see the flagperson I hit at 120kmh....

fucking newb parents. Gotta have a Volvo with Michelin tires or your baby will die!
What happened to eyes in the back of your head? My parents had those!

eeeh what's the difference between drinking a beer while driving and drinking a beer and then drive ? I drink while driving when I'm going for a 8 hours trip. I just don't get drunk.

As for the cellphone law, totally stupid. We have it here in Quebec and nobody cares. People still answer their phone while driving. It's much more dangerous to quickly stop on the highway just to answer your phone.

Ahhh... another vehicular genius.

SNAP!

Well I won't even comment on the first part of your post ....... well on second thought I will. You have a point but the thought that we should allow people to drink while driving is just down right scary. You're referring to yourself when talking about being responsible enough not to over do it, personally I barely trust other drivers enough not to drive after hitting the bar and drinking to much let alone let them drink while driving and hoping that they don't over do it. The thought of allowing people to drink while driving is just down right scary.

On the second part you also have a point. I don't know what would be worse, having people veering all over the road while they try to dial or message on their phone or having every door knob who gets a call suddenly slamming on the brakes and trying to pull over.

Personally i think auto makers and phone manufactures have a part to play in all of this. Car makers should be making a greater effort to have some type of solution to hands free phone integration in their vehicles. You see it on higher end cars, why not start by making the technology available in lower end cars as well. Trying to stop people from talking on their phones is next to impossable (justask Danny Williams ) so why not look at ways to make it safer.

Personally, I don't see why a person would want to drink WHILE driving.
If you want to hydrate yourself, water or juice will do.
If it absolutely has to be alcohol, then you may have a problem.

As for cell phone use in a car, if someone calls, let them leave a message.
You can call back later when you're stopped.

Out of all the phone calls going to cells, how many do you think are really important?
Out of those important ones, a 10-15 minute callback delay probably doesn't change much.

I don't have a cell and don't want one.
If you think it's because I've never had one, think again, my last boss gave me one since I spent most of my working day out of office.

That was funny up until the flag person part, but I guess most people have never seen what a beautiful young girl looks like after she been dragged under a horse trail for a 100 yards or so. But I'll get over it... someday hopefully. :(

To many of them die senseless deaths to be making jokes about it.

I with you Raydan...dont have a cell anymore. I couldnt stand being accessible 24/7...I dont miss having one. The worst I have seen with idiot drivers on cells is, the ones that arent talking but are texting...like WTF?

**Oh to all the fucking retards that drink and drive...Get some help before you kill someone...Idiots
