The guard, Terry Leger, told B.C. children's ministry that he suspected a woman of using her baby to smuggle drugs into Matsqui.
He cited prison records that showed the woman had tested positive for cocaine residue eight times and her child tested positive twice during visits to the facility over the span of five months.
Correctional Service Canada launched a disciplinary hearing when they found out, alleging he breached inmate confidentiality when he made the report.
I heard about this, but I don't remember any names being mentioned.
Still... is that the sort of thing an inmate can expect to remain private?
The guard -as are all of us- was legally obligated to report what he felt was child abuse. I don't understand how CCS could even think to make an issue of this situation by sanctioning the guard.

The solution that we need was in the Edmonton Sun today-Canada's Military Prison. I tried to post the link to the article but can't get it to work. Probly cuz I don't know what the hell I'm doing!

Maybe one of yous can link it.

They sort of are... have you ever been to Abbotsford?

It's funny because it's true.
And if it makes anyone feel any better, that prison is directly across the street from an elementary school.

I think a few examples need to be made out of the inmates. You're in jail for a reason fuckheads, stop screwing around or we'll put you down.
