B.C.'s distracted driving penalties more than triple startin
What I'd like to see is for cell phone use while driving to be the same as a DUI.
Drive drunk, drive distracted and people end up dead just the same. The penalties should be the same, too.

When I see somebody walking towards me looking at their phone, I just stop and brace for impact... the best is when their phone goes flying.

I usually am polite and hold doors open for people, but I've taken to actively closing doors on people if they are talking on their phones.
They weren't going to thank me anyhow, and I find that extremely rude.
Thank you's? Shit half the young women here are so self absorbed and lacking manners they look at you like you're a perv if you hold the door open for them.
#1 problem with employees was "put your fucking phone in your coat and turn it off" they just couldn't do that. HAD TO answer every text instantly or their Teen Gods would be displeased.

Canada needs to run national ads like this.

You're not f*cking kidding.

It was almost hard to believe this was an ad it was so believably freaking real. That would hit home for most people.

It would be the guy texting in winter who steps off the curb and ends up pink snow....

Agreed. It was hours ago that I watched it and some images are still fresh in my mind. It's not often something like that affects me so much. A very real dramatization that I'm sure First Responders contributed greatly to for the content.
Was going to watch it later when the grandson wasn't around think I will skip it. The billboard with the picture of one of the many kids that have died because someone didn't stop for a school bus is enough to upset me. Too many people drive like it's a right not a privilege.
