Blame the victim: Religious leaflet claims ungodly dressed women provoke rape

Even if a woman walks down the street completely naked she would not be 'asking for it'.
This is true but the woman who walks naked down the street can't blame the men for staring and doing very little else.

Looking aint rape
Looking upsets many women also even though they are dressing to draw that very reaction.

Seems a few people are being overly defensive.

Its too bad these people were quoting from the bible rather then the koran. Be a far different story were that the case.
But that's the point. It's a few people. Not a church. Not the Vatican. It's three people in a car.
And, it doesn't matter what they quote. People have every right to their opinions, no matter how stupid they might be. It's quite a different case when rape victims are lashed for getting raped in real life. The Westboro Baptist Church is filled with disgusting ideas and opinions, but as long as they stay within the confines of the law, then they'll stay as people with twisted opinions. Unless something changed, twisted, disgusting opinions are not against the law in Canada nor the USA.

Its more then that since I see religious people pulling the same morality crap against homosexuals. The fact is it is a story. It did happen. Don't like it? Tough. Don't click the link and don't bother commenting.
Awfully ironic that the people complaining this is an attempt to smear an entire faith is being held by those who have no problem doing it when it suits them.

Derby. I can click and comment on anything I want. That's the great thing about Canada. I have the freedom to express my views freely with others, like you, Brenda, Shep, and everybody else on this site. I come on this site under the full consent that my freedom of expression is limited under the confines of the rules of the owner of CKA, and I'm willing to follow those rules. You don't like that? Tough.
In my opinion, this "News" story is about a disgusting pamphlet/leaflet given to a girl by three people in a car in the United States. That's the story. Those people in that car have the right to give out said leaflet. The reporter has every right to write a news story and blow it out of proportion to cater to individuals like yourself, who take any radical opinion of anybody with religious faith as an attack of everyone of that religion, or of religion in general.
Of course, once again you can think I express hatred for an entire religious faith, when that is certainly isn't the case. I have never expressed the opinion that I hate Islam or all Muslims. I certainly dislike, or hate, radical versions of Islam, but I hate radical Christians, radical Hindus, radical Sikhs, and radical atheists as well.
Of course, my hatred for radical Islam can be twisted and overblown by you to make you think I hate all Islam or Muslims, which, like this news article, is sensationalist, emotional and faulty rhetoric in an attempt to slander. You have every right to express faulty opinions, much like those in the car have every right to express their faulty opinions. That's freedom.

I have no problem when women undress me with their eyes and then use me for their sexual gratification, without any thoughts to my needs and feelings.

Depends tho! I rather have a nice, well dressed, good looking businessman do that, than a homeless drunk

Thanks for the loonie, Martin.
It's weak-willed people who buy into this crap that a woman wearing a bikini is somehow responsible for a man's actions. She isn't. Rapists and misogyinists will always try to find excuses for their behavior, for their problems, and the fact of the matter is that they are solely responsible for their actions.
I frequently posed the issue to hard-core Islamists who wanted women bagged from head-to-toe so they were not 'tempted' and I'd point out that a truly holy man could be surrounded by naked women and would still behave himself.
This BS of blaming the victim can be taken to the nth degree.
Car thieves can say that seeing nice cars compelled them to steal.
Bank robbers can say that all the money in the bank tempted them.
And etc.
The point is that a REAL Christian is not worried about what a woman is wearing, he's worried about what is in his own heart and he knows that a bunch of BS excuses won't count when he has to account for his actions to his Maker.

Which is all I did in posting a news story which you cried about.

No, YOU DID THAT. I didn't post some comment decrying all christians in a manner that usually accompanies and thread with postings of awful things muslims do. YOU did that or rather you assumed that.

Kinda like twisting and overblowing not even my words but the simple fact I posted a news story around into me attacking all people of christian faith? That faulty opinion?

The point is also that lots of their people say REAL muslims don't (insert act here). These people think themselves are the REAL christians. In fact christianity has time and again split itself into various denomination because people believed that other people weren't behaving or believing in a manner that REAL christians do.

Real Christians are defined by their paying attention to the teachings of Christ.
Jesus Jesus:
Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?
Right here. Jesus says I am responsible for what is in my heart, not someone else. I don't go blaming other people for things when I need to take responsibility for my own issues.
Romans 2:1 Romans 2:1:
Therefore you have no excuse, everyone of you who passes judgment, for in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.
And from Matthew Henry:
$1:
7:1-6 We must judge ourselves, and judge of our own acts, but not make our word a law to everybody. We must not judge rashly, nor pass judgment upon our brother without any ground. We must not make the worst of people. Here is a just reproof to those who quarrel with their brethren for small faults, while they allow themselves in greater ones. Some sins are as motes, while others are as beams; some as a gnat, others as a camel. Not that there is any sin little; if it be a mote, or splinter, it is in the eye; if a gnat, it is in the throat; both are painful and dangerous, and we cannot be easy or well till they are got out. That which charity teaches us to call but a splinter in our brother's eye, true repentance and godly sorrow will teach us to call a beam in our own. It is as strange that a man can be in a sinful, miserable condition, and not be aware of it, as that a man should have a beam in his eye, and not consider it; but the god of this world blinds their minds. Here is a good rule for reprovers; first reform thyself.

Then I don't think there are many real Christians in the world. How many give away all that they have? How many truly look at the log in their own eye first. How many are truly able to love their neighbor as themselves? (He set the bar pretty high there, most religious teachers just said do unto others.) How many are able not to sin in their hearts? And if Jesus forgives them all these trespasses, I'm sure he will forgive others for theirs. Probably even understand the person who didn't believe in Him until he met Him face to face. I'm sure Thomas was forgiven too.
