having parties like the bloc and the NDP makes me embarressed to be Canadian, let's watch the body bags come home now, do they think that saying "alright sorry we've been killing you, but we'll only rebuild now so let's call a truce" will stop the taliban from wanting to kill us?? WE NEED THE MILITARY ASPECT, without the use of force, we might as well not have a presense at all, I know if I was wearing the boots on the ground over there, there's no way I'd be rebuilding anything if I knew we weren't going to be hunting the taliban rather than waiting to be the hunted.

so fucking tired of seeing these vote hungry politicians making decisions that are based on getting votes and getting in power rather than what's best for the mission or the troops, if they pass this, we should pull out of afghanistan completely and begin figuring out ways to attack the NDP and the bloc

Between Quebec and Alberta it may come to a point where somehow Canada is Canada but Ottawa will disappear by the way side and maybe even no longer exist other than the home base of one politician " The Prime Minister " sounds way out in left feild but anything is possible .

"could topple gov't"? I would be very surprised if the Liberals supported a no-confidence motion just now but I grant the possibility.
The Conservatives willwant to campaign on their handling of our involvement in Afghanistan, keeping the focus away from Conservative social policy. Liberals will be reluctant to challenge the mission too much so they'll be just waiting for any opening to point up differences in social policy values. Those openings will be provided by the media will having access again to all Conservative MPs (like Cheryl Gallant) many of whom Harper would rather kept quiet for fear of turning off voters. Those are the MPs that Harper has kept carefully silenced to ensure none of the extremists are ever heard to utter something the Libs can point to as the "real face of the Conservatives" (tm)

I'm so sick of the Bloc I could gag up my spleen. Listening to the news today all I could think was they don't care about our troops it's all about Quebec and it's socialist ethics. The Bloc want us to cede our current mission don blue berets and go back as peace keepers. Okay, so who takes on the role of Stabalizing Afghanistan? Not Italy, nor Germany or the French (gag me with a spoon). They are bluntly retarted, not suprising because I doubt any one in their party ever served CANADA. If the Liberals support this motion they are toast, dead like dinner. They sent the Military into Afghanistan, and the public remembers this and if Dion pulls a left leaning Liberal stunt of supporting said motion frankly I will retract all the nice things I've said about him and don blue undies.
If I had my way the Bloc would be declared a terrorist organization and run out of dodge on the ass they rode in on. Traitors to this country is what this party is. They are playing Silly Bugger Politics with the lives of our troops and this makes me very angry. Arseholes and traitors to Canada.

I just don't see the Liberals supporting any such motion. They were, after all the ones who committed our troops in the first place. I think it would be an error for the Liberals to take down the govedrnment on this particular issue. This mission enjoys a lot of support across the country. Opposing it wouldn't be the right issue to campaign on.

When Harper became PM and said "Canadians don't cut and run" when asked about Canada's dedication to her Liberal party committments in Afghanistan he obviously meant to say "Albertans" since the combined eastern pussy coalition of the MSM/Liberal/Bloc/NDP are advocating that we stand tall like a bunch of Frenchmen.
Anyways, what do the French know about liberating oppressed nations? We've rescued them twice last century alone while their brethren in Quebec cried foul at the thought of participation.
Of course, while the men are away risking their lives bringing the women and children of Afghanistan freedom, opportunity and education you liberals ought to stick to your own noble quest of destroying Canada's traditions and social institutions.

The Regiments involved were, 4th (Kings Own) 21st (Royal North British Fusiliers), 44th (East Essex) and the 85th Regiment of Foot. Also elements of the Royal Marines and the Royal Artillery were involved.
NO CANADIAN MILITIA OR OTHER UPPER/LOWER CANADA INVOLVEMENT.
