Boy, 11, marries 10-year-old cousin

"AN 11-year-old boy has married his 10-year-old cousin in the ultra-conservative Muslim kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Mohammed al-Rashidi and his unidentified cousin would seal the marriage they contracted under the sharia laws of Islam and move in together after a ceremony to take place later this year, Al-Shams newspaper reported today.

"I am ready for this marriage. It will help me study better," Mohammed, who goes to primary school in the northern province of Hail, was quoted as saying by Al-Shams.

"I invite all my classmates to do like me," the boy said.

He wanted to "crown a love story through marriage".

The boy's father, Muraizak al-Rashidi, told the newspaper he was busy sending out invitations for a celebration to seal the marriage.

Dahim al-Jaber, the headmaster at Mohammed's school, said marriage at such a young age was "inappropriate" but wished the couple a happy life together. "

Ah,yes....sharia law coming to Canada???? Well, if the muslim's have their way....

Well I just thought it funny that he points out the Muslims for this and no other cultures that do the same sort of thing....the Mormons or Mennonites who live here in Canada for example.

I personally believe that he doesn't give a shit about age....only the fact that they are Muslim. It's the same old bullshit song and dance from these fuck wads. I'm just calling it for a change.....I tend to do that once in awhile for shits and giggles!

Maybe they don't plan on living that long what with neighbouring countries at war, etc.

Romeo and Juliet weren't too much older when they were in love, after all. Granted, they didn't live long.

The cavemen also 'married' while young since their life expectancy was so short.

I don't hate Muslims but I have severe reservations about Islam. Sharia law in Canada is itself a valid concern as many of those who will be pressured to abide by it are those who tried to extradite themselves from its influence in the first place.

Further, once Sharia Law is enacted in Canada for practicing Muslims who volunteer to submit to its tenants, two things will happen:

1. There will be a vehicle in place that circumnavigates Canadian law allowing challenges to whittle away at any restrictions or safeguards that are put in place and;

2. Maintaining the immigration model since 1990, Muslims will be the predominate population in Canada by 2055 and it is better to culture as many Canadian Muslim generations as possible with a concept of a separation of Church and State because when the time comes and Islam is the predominate faith we will want them to choose the rules the decedents of Old Canada live under to as closely reflect the values, freedoms and independence we have today.
