And yet illegal immigrants who commit endless crimes are released back into the British public with no threat of deportation! Just another reason why the British Government is a joke!

I have no doubt that the US & Canada do similar things to their service member's families.

Maybe so, but at least Canada has alot more stringent rules about who they let immigrate into the country. I don't know about the US.

dont bet on that.. our immigration rules are a joke and probably

no better than the Brits..

the Americans have a 1000 mile hole along the southern border,

and nothing up North.. anyone can just walk right in...

I thought that to be allowed to immigrate to Canada you had to have Canadian parentage, have x amount of money or a guaranteed job or a specific skill. Although I suppose you'll always get the ones who come in on a temporary visa and just dissappear.

RoyalHighlander @ Thu Mar 27, 2008 1:34 pm

Hey if you follow the rules inform your self and take what steps you need to then most of the time ther IS NO PROBLEM,, people get screwed up when they try to take shortcuts

sasquatch2 @ Thu Mar 27, 2008 1:35 pm

I speculate the problem is the Home office swivellel servants are new citizens much like the staff at Heathrow, Pearson, Vancouver etc.

kenmore @ Thu Mar 27, 2008 1:38 pm

when did the immigration rules become so stringent? the country if full of immigrants who shouldnt be here... all you have to do to gain entry in jump on a plane or pull up at halifax harbour on a raft.. we take anything and anyone.. give them housing, health care and welfare and if you have several wives thats even better... Canada is very good to me...

You guys can relax, she won her appeal.

$1:
Facing the prospect of deportation, Crozier waged a very public battle over the rights of soldiers' foreign spouses to stay in Britain. But now, she's learned the government is granting her an exemption from the normal immigration rules that will allow her to remain for up to four years.

I don't like the exemption of the law, even though I do agree with it, by this I mean she deserves not to be expelled.

Nobody should be exempted from the law. If the law has flaws, it should be changed.

This might make a legal first for some more shaky cases that will base their arguments on this.
