there were passengers sitting on that bus - nobody wanted to get involved, I guess. Bunch of zombies sitting there. I stepped in between a drunk going after a young guy on the skytrain - (at the other end of the train), everybody around them just sat there with dead eyes. Sounds like Mohammed needs a spanking. Jesus people, get involved.

In all honesty you can't actually blame the passengers for their inaction, it all depends on how obvious, how loud things were. The driver apparently didn't make a great deal of fuss when it happened, she pushed the alarm and continued driving. There are many things not stated about the assault without which you can't draw any true conclusions.

Not necessarily. I'm giving the passengers the benefit of the doubt that they didn't know what was going on instead of knee-jerk calling them a bunch of indifferent cowards. The driver stayed quiet behind that little barrier they have behind their seat, the story didn't say if anyone was seated in the front seats to see what was happening, and on any public transit I've been on in the last five years everyone's staring at their cell phones anyway and not paying attention to whatever new fare is getting on the damn bus. As for me I'm old, I'm badly out of shape, I've got knees that could be best described as "fragile", and I'm about as fast and dexterous as a Galapagos tortoise. So, yes, unless I've got a ball bat in my fucking hands I'm not white knighting it in public on anyone's behalf.
